Talking New Member - Looking to Turbo

Hey Everyone.

Last year I bought a 2000 Special Edition Miata:
-1.8L
-6 speed manual tranny
-torsen LSD diff

I am finally looking to get this baby turbo'd as I'm looking for more of a wild ride.

I am trying to decide currently between the MKTurbo Kit and the Flyin Miata Turbo Kit.

I'll be working through first installing the ECU and tuning, then injectors and re-tune, and finally get the full turbo kit installed.

Hopefully I can get this project moving along quickly, as I am currently working on getting my '18 Mustang GT sold to buy yet another Miata haha.

Let me know your guys' opinion on which kit is more preferred.

I personally think both kits are just fine and perfectly adequate for moderate power and stock engine goals. It sounds like your road map is already well laid out.

Start up a build thread and keep us updated on progress.

I am going to be helping Andy with this turbo build.

If he decides to go with the MKTurbo setup, what are some T3 options for a turbo upgrade? I am afraid that with heavy track use the china turbo might not hold up to the abuse.

Where in MD are you guys? I'd offer to come up and throw wrenches.

Also, I have a twin scroll manifold and EFR turbine housing for sale if you want to go wild

I did search your partout for items Andy could use! But I think that is a little more wild than what he is trying to achieve...

We are in the Hagerstown area. I am friends with Shibby and actually met you once at a meet in DC (maybe it was VA, I don't remember). We will let you and Shibby know once we start working on his car.

Manifold is bigger long term issue then the turbo. I should have my cast manifold out sometime this year to fix that issue.

That might be the best move. Do you have any ideas on pricing for the kit with the cast manifold?
