Almost sounds like I need to sell this thing and buy a new one that's not assembled like a ms3 and have you (brain) build it. I've seen alot of threads where people are very happy with your builds

This is a classic example of why I tell all the noobs to install a MS before they add on the turbo. This way you have far less problems and issues to trouble shoot.

YES!!!

Sounds like it was assembled by semi-retarded baboons and is a royal trainwreck.

Its not the MS' fault, its the monkeys' that assembled it fault.

Yea my friend has a ms2 ok his e30 he loves it. I think it would be a good computer/tuning setup of it were built correctly. I just need to find someone who could assemble it correctly so I can move forward I would like to keep my ignition setup stock. My build isn't crazy not looking for massive hp. Nothing stock coil couldn't do. Anyone you know of build them for a decent price?

We should sticky this thread as a perfect example of why most people on here buy fully assembled and pnp Megasquirts for their cars.

Or could be a perfect example why not to buy ms that was used and assembled by someone who doesn't know what they were doing. Thanks for the link I will check it out. Looking at buying ms2 PCb 3.0

Reverant makes and sells many different versions. He has a sub section in the Vendor section of the forum that has many threads on the different versions he has.

I can't imagine why throwing a hacked MS1 that was untested into a car and hard-wired into said car with no definitive guarantee that the wiring is 100% correct all while throwing a turbo at it plus bigger injectors and COPS on top isn't working.

Maybe that's why I'm slow and change one thing at a time. Kinda like the idea eliminating introducing several new variables at once and stuff. Makes issues a bit easier to narrow down. But I'm not a certified tech, though.

The ms1 came out if a car that I herd run I was able to test it with a DIY Bob I believe they call it. That takes a 9v battery. Hard wired it in and went from there. But decided to buy one and has it built by someone who is good with ms. Plus ms1 doesn't have alot of options. I went cop due to my coil being bad and couldn't source one but I got the coils free so I tried that and had some luck but time for ms2

I left enough wire on the stock plugs to revert back jut in case so I'm happy I did that and I only cut the wires that I needed so many are still untouched

Good idea.

A properly assembled ms2 is much much better than ms1.

The thing is that over the course of the past 6-7 years there have been several different ways to build an MS1 to run on a miata. When I first built mine in 2007 I was running the Kingofl33t mods on mine. There are probably only 2 or 3 dozen people on here now who have any clue what those are. The circuits for spark control and a ton of other things have been improved over the years, and depending on which circuits you built can change the settings that need to be set to get it working. Without knowing which circuits were built and how it can be hard to troubleshoot an MS1.

Thank you that's exactly where I am with this ms1. I'm digging trough lists of mods to try and figure out what is what but its confusing and my knowledge isn't as full as it should be since I didn't built it. I'm not exactly sure were this and that spot is or what this part is called as its in this spot. It makes it tricky. But DIY autotune sells the built ms2 for 432 or something like that. I'm going to buy that one and start over plus ms2 is way better from what I've seen

Buy a MS from reverant on here. You will spend a bit more, but in the long run it will be easier for you.
