Calling for MS Gurus - Help with MS2 SMD v3.57 installation
Okay, I finally got some time to play with my friend's car with MS2 v3.57 SMD and still no luck to get the car start.
Spec:
1990 Miata with A/C
MS2357-C MegaSquirt-2 ECU w/PCBv3.57
RX8 yellow injectors
Walbro 190lph FP
Garrett T25 turbo from SR20DET
Artech mani and dp.
Stock CAS - which is unplug
ST-SIGN removed
jumper wire FP to GND (just for now to test, will do the right way later with light green wire from FP relay to purple fuel pump wire)
I opened up the MS2 box and check all the wiring and have the routing as follow (it looks like a assembled MS2 V3.57 SMD unit) :
S12C to JS9
XG1 to JP2
PAD2 to PAD6
PAD1 to IAC2A
PAD3 to IAC2B
PAD12 to J54
5V to JS10
JS10 to IAC1A
I made a standalone harness according to brain's post and hopefully I did it right.
I couldn't find Tachselect to XG1 and IGN and IAC2B get swapped according to http://miataturbo.wikidot.com/ms2-a. Am I missing something?
Any advice, pointers to get the car start???
TIA!
- Jason

where the c30 jumper go?
if you do it that way you need to lift off on aside of r57 to remove the pullup and and completely remove c30.
open up TS and click the diagnostics tab, then record and crank for about 10 secs until the lines appears...post screenshot.

spark output should be going low (normal)
what base map is this? I don't like you dwell settings either, and your timing is set to fixed right now...should turn it back to map to start the car.

okay, I copied the ignition settings from the diypnp basemap and still no luck. My friend mentioned about CAS might be bad?? Also, used test light on injectors, I am getting power on both wires to the injector (#4) during cranking. Shouldn't be one is power and one is ground?

You're getting RPMs in TS, so the CAS is functioning. You can verify it's not getting loss sync, and even look at the signals as they input using the composite logger.
and yes, at the injector, there's a constant 12v source, and the MS grounds the other end to squirt.
I notice on the harness you did the wiring for hte vtps, did you add this or are you still on the stock 1.6L tps? that's an isuse, and you need to unplug the tps if have not upgraded.
Also I failed to notice the rx8 injectors, what are those 440cc? IIRC your req_fuel value was for stock 230cc injecors, so that's makes sense why I think it's lean...maybe half the req_fuel number if it's set to 11-13 or something like that.

Okay, am I missing something here? Still couldn't get the car to start.
Stock TPS is unplug. Have to wire Bosch vTPS later after I get the car start. I am start to think if the MS unit is bad.
Brain, much appreciate for your time to look at my friend's MSQ file!

Okay, so let me use the start map from DIYPNP and change the req_fuel to 420cc injector. Hopefully this would at least get the car start!
