Ben:

Is there a plan to release with the 3.57 board? What kind of cost will this add?

Thanks!

God, wouldn't it be great if I had my spare MS-I handy so in case anything happened I had another ECU to run on...

Add the expander board and we have 6 general purpose PWM outputs for cool stuff including planned VVT control.

We had the VVT box (standalone closed loop controller) on the dyno friday before last, and it did awesome. So long as everything continues to move as positively as possible, I don't think it will be too much longer before the code makes it to MS3.

The expander hardware was revised based on feedback and is hopefully going through its last round of testing before being released. The expander is projected to be right around the $100 mark.

expander + ms3 + updated code = VVT control? Or is the standalone box still req'd. I'd think a PWM PID output would be sufficient as long as you can tell it what the inputs are.

The standalone box is a separate product that will give VVT capability to practically any platform. I really can't release any details, but it's a very clever critter.

When is this VVT box going to be available (before or after the MS3 is updated to control it?)?

As in you're looking for a fully assembled unit? Should be added to the site very soon--but of course it would take a few mods for the miata. Send me an email if you want a quote on a custom built MS3 ECU. websales@diyautotune.com

I wish I could give you a solid answer, but I really don't know.

Well I'm totally cool with your price of the MS3 based off the 3.0 build it yourself board, but I've been thinking about getting a 3.57/MS2 for a while but still on the fence. Haven't had *knock on wood* any problems with the 2.2 I built but still thinking...

Any plans for PNP for 01-05?

While we haven't committed to building one yet, I will say that connector was a bigger nuisance to feed its data into the CAD software than any other connector we've looked at using for a DIYPNP. (Particularly since I'm using the 5 connector version so we can run it on certain Toyotas, too.) We'll probably want to have some other supporting mod kits out first though.

The guy who wrote the code for that still owes me some data on transient response before I'm willing to add that capability to ms3, and at this point we're at feature freeze for the 1.0 code, so it'll go in at 1.1 assuming the data is good.

At this point I'm also not 100% sure we'd end up using his exact code, or just end up making it work the same/similarly. Depends on licensing and other considerations.

Either way some form of continuous VVT control will make it in.

Let me know if there's any data I can send you from the dyno session. Jerry intentionally ran through transients on the rollers so we could capture what you asked for.

All I can say is that you Developers for MS are amazing. Is there some place that I can donate money or beer or blow?
