Default How many I/O?

I have MS1 v3.0

I am running fan control, and EBC on my standalone installation.

Do I have room to add a knock sensing circuit to retard timing in the event of knock, or do I have to remove the fan control?

Knock detection is done using terminal JS10 on the main board.

Boost control is done on JS2, and fan control is generally done on JS0 or D15.

There is no conflict here.

Many functions are tied to specific pads inside the MS. These are described here: http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Ex...are_Manual.htm and here: http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Ex...are_Manual.htm

Thanks Joe, you never disappoint.

How about this: Does KnocksenseMS send a signal that can be used by JS10, or does it only output a signal that is mixed with the coolant signal? I am having trouble understanding their website. Or would I be better off to just make the knock sensing circuit myself?

Knocksense sends the signal to JS10, yes.

Ignore the knock logging wire, dont bother with it. JP1 = JS10

The KnockSenseMS has both the coolant temperature signal (I believe Boris came up with that before the MS had the ability to retard timing based on knock) and one you can wire straight to the MS's input.

Ok, I'm going to install the KSMS today. I'm putting the unit behind the radio and mounting the LED in my empty gauge spot.
