Just Built a Jim Stim
Ugh I cant stand the tips and lack of heat with the shack irons, I do use their de-soldering iron quite often though and I must say its quite a tool.
Yup, soldering is fun.
Recently picked up a freecom portable hard drive for free, the mini USB port had been ripped off the PCB. Repaired the 0.5mm traces on the PCB in quick time just using an Antex 18w hand held iron. I now have 2TB of HD to play with.

I waffle back and forth on this.
.032 is fine for through-hole parts. At the lab, we have .020 and .015 at the surface-mount bench, and while those are great for small parts, they're slightly tedious for use with big stuff as you have to feed a lot more of it in.
Anything in this range will be fine for 99% of uses.

I think I'll go to my local RS and see what I can get before I tackle the JimStimX. I look at my Jim Stim and I do see some joints that aren't the shiniest. I need to master this before I try to build the MS3X. Oscar doesn't want a half *** EMS falling apart on him while being thrashed at the track.
