Default Look at my tune?

Now that I don't have any boost creep I need to address the car on my car. The tune is basically is how it came with a few small changes. I'm still extremely a noob so I'm concerned about making changes. When I ran ve analyze afrs were all over the place. Car is 2001 vvt with MK turbo, Forcflow 640 injectors.

If you don't know what you're doing, I would advise to just run the basemap and VEAL the fuel and call it a day. Giving that you're not knocking currently.

In General Settings, you have "Incorporate AFRTarget" off. you want this on set to match what your base map fueling is set for. (ask whoever you got your basemap from)

In AFR/EGO Control (under fuel settings) "Use authority table" should be turned on.

At least thats what I needed to do for ve analyze live to work on my ms3 basic.

You can also go as leaner in a lot of spots, but not necessary.

i made some changes for you, which im sure will be discredited...

Uh, why are you idling at 15 instead of stoich (i guess this is okay), but more importantly... wouln't you want to be closer to 15.5 for cruise instead of 16?

Only if you have a VE table setup for it. If your base map doesn't have incorporate AFRTarget on then don't just go turning it on.

Also don't go telling people to randomly change vital parts of their fueling equation.

This only effects EGO correction. Does not affect autotune.

Again. Only turn on "Use authority table" if you have also setup your authority table.

The goal of EGO feedback is to fix your fueling in-band when the fueling table is off. VEAL fixes your fueling table. They might fight each other

Yes.
Because those targets are not good and I wouldn't use them.

...unless I wanted to melt my pistons

what parts are too lean? I was reading 16:1 is fine for the low load cruising cells

Right, I get it. You get better fuel economy with an afr of 16 at cruise. Where's the tradeoff of economy vs knock/danger? Or is that not really an issue at cruise since you're out of boost territory and are probably still richer than the stock ECU is? I guess you wouldn't even have to bother looking for knock and pulling timing at that load, huh?

Knock isn't the only thing that hurts motors. Running lean will skyrocket egts. You need to increase timing because the flame front moves so much slower.

70kpa isn't necessarily "low load" either.

Knock can happen at any rpm.

There are other good threads about this. Including curves related to AFR and emissions. And MBT.

Either way. Ignore above tuning advice

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was referring to the cruise cells and using brain's basemap for reference. That goes richer than stoich all the way across starting at 84kpa. The entire chunk of cruise between 3-5k rpm below 55kpa is at ~15.7.

Most of it. That map is crap because the bp is not a direct injected lean burn engine and you're really not saving any significant amount of fuel but putting a lot of stress on pistons

As an exercise, check out brain's base maps on trubo kitty and see where the differences are.

This thread has been confusing to me. I guess I'll try VEAL again and see what happens. Otherwise as long as my tune looks safe I'll just leave it. Not going to mess with stuff and kaboom my engine.

Willful ignorance and laziness are a nasty combination.
If you don't wanna learn, just go pay a tuner. If you wanna learn, start learning.

Posting the vaguest of threads, without even a specific question, and after getting some actually helpful responses choosing to "see what happens" is just plain offensively ignorant to me.

My ignorance isn't willful, it's inexperience. Half the post was directed to someone else. One tells me to do one thing, another tells me to ignore them. If me being stupid is offensive I'm sorry. I do want to learn more and I will. I just thought I would get more advice. I'll try to be more specific from here on.
