So I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here. I hooked up the MS to my JimStim and everything looked good with Extra029y4. I flashed it with HR10g and I get no LEDs on the MS. Flash it back and it all looks fine again.

Also, the o2 values won't go over 12 in Tuner Studio. Seem to work fine in MT.

I've owned this damned thing for like 2 years and am just getting to where I need to install it. I fear it will be the biggest hurdle in the turbo project...

 

Think I figured it out.....still need to add a cap. Doh....

I'd already installed the cap and just forgot that I did so. Help?

Should I maybe just forget TS and set the thing up with MT until I know it works right? Maybe the LEDs don't light with the spark when using high-res and I just missed that little fact somewhere???

 

hows is the jimstim setup?

 

Dip switches 2 and 3 on, all others off. Pins 1 and 2 jumped, and 2nd trigger jumped to I1A.

 

Do I need to use Easytherm to flash? I was just running the .bat files.

Brain - do your Easytherm values for Parallel 1.6 work OK for 1.8 too? I was using those.

Maybe I'll drag my MS, stim and netbook to ATL next week and pay somebody to school me.....any takers?

 

Well, the o2 value thing was just my jumper setting...haven't had time to monkey with the rest of it.

I mean there's no difference as fr as the stim is concerned between the two firmwares. Did you load in a map?

 

No map. I think I have the dumb when loading stuff on this thing. Instructions from various sources and whatnot...

I was trying to do everything with bat files and Tuner Studio. I think I need to learn about Easy Therm and Megatune first, then use TS for autotune and fine tuning.

I suppose I could just forgo Hi-res for now. My plan is to only use MS1 briefly anyway, until I learn it, then upgrade to MS3 probably in the fall or next spring.

Well, that would explain it. I assume it works with the 029y4 because you loaded a map for that when you built it.

I'm in GA now, maybe I'll take my MS to the track with me and see if someone at DIY will hold my hand...or I'll figure it out when I get back.
