I am building a PCB v3.0 that I bought from DIYAutorune with a MS3 and a MS3X. I plan to use it to replace the ECU of my 2003 Miata.

I am following the build instructions of the MS3X/V3.0 Hardware Guide and I am also using this web page:

I just stumbled on pictures of Westfield MX5 01-05 board and it's quite different from what I have build. It's missing half the components and R13 is connected in the same hole as R45.

Am I following the right instructions? I would like to have a confirmation that I am on the right track...

The MS3X board takes care of a lot of those missing components. But you're not hurting anything installing them.

the one thing you should do is remove R13 and install a 1K resistor there but going down to the next resistor as shown in Frank's pic.

Then make sure your jumpers are setup for the VR input circuit (youre missing one)

and you need to install MOV1 and R40 and Q22 and Q23.

Is replacing R13 with a 1K resistor and connecting it as in Frank`s pic the same as connecting a 1K resistor on a wire from the 5V hole above the proto area to TachSelect (from How to MegaSquirt your Mazda Miata)

correct. the left hole of r13 is 5v so that's providing the pull up to tachselect.

I finished the board, installed the formware and now TunerStudio is able to connect to it

I searched for a MS3 2003 base map and did not find anything. Anyone has one?

I have some 550cc injector from my WRX lying around. As far as I can tell, they would fit the Miata with 12mm extender like these:

Any reason not to use them?
