Hi!! A friend has sort of pointed me in the direction of MS 3 (or 2 ? ).
I understand that V2 has been released as a PnP for my car and 3 needs a little more work on my part.
My question is will there be substantial differences or improvements from MS1 to aid the following. ???

• Fast idle when motor is still warm.
• Longer cranking than stock.
• Fast idle between shifts to compensate for “something” related to poor drivability.
• AE stumble
• Detonation/Pinging unless I use high test
• No seat of the pants response to raised boost
• Oscillations at idle
• Poor idle
• No AC possible (Yes I tried )

Yes, I understand that a couple of these like the one about the raised boost can be remedied on the V1 but my preferred outcome would be to do what yields the best outcome in terms of the most annoyances fixed.

Thanks

All the above are tuning issues: msI, II, or III.

The biggest improvement I'd expect is that your Miata, having a lightened flywheel and A/C, is a pain to tune the idle control; the improvements in MS2 and MS3 will probably help.

But, bottom line, better hardware won't make any difference if you are still unwilling to invest the time and money in a proper tune.

The idle control code is improved a bit.

• Longer cranking than stock.
This is a matter of tuning and probably won't be fixed with a different ECU, other than that you'll need to retune this and may get it right this time.

• Fast idle between shifts to compensate for “something” related to poor drivability.
Not really. You need to fix the "something" instead.

• AE stumble
You should be able to tune that out on an MS1 as well. If you're not able to dial this out on MS1, chances are MS2 or MS3's extra AE options are more likely to

• Detonation/Pinging unless I use high test
You want to run a turbo Miata and not use high test? Sorry, your problem here is blatant user error.

• No seat of the pants response to raised boost
Probably a tuning issue.

• Oscillations at idle
• Poor idle
Under steady load, this is again a tuning issue. Under varying load? The MS2/Extra and MS3 codes have vastly improved closed loop idle code.

• No AC possible (Yes I tried )
There's some room for improvement here; the analog A/C idle up circuit of an MSPNP Gen 2, the GSlender code, or MS3 A/C control code can help.
