Default MSPNP woes...

Installed the MSPNP today (90-93). I went with the NO AFM firmware and msq. And before anybody asks... yes, the fuse was pulled out (forever), and the igniter was disconnected while updating the firmware and msq. I removed the airbox, and installed a short section of pipe connected to a cone filter, where the IAT is embedded into the cone filter (into the rubber neck area).

I set the timing via the procedure shown on the site. When all was said and done, the timing light showed ~14 degrees, and so did megatune.

I took the car for a drive, and right when I passed 2000 rpms, steady throttle, the fuel cuts out - or something...and then comes back in, then goes out...and etc. I didn't want to try to even get it above 3000 rpms.

Even when the car is idling... if i press the throttle to go >2000 rpms and hold it there...it'll stutter and and etc.

On the megatune screen, the "pulse width" on the injectors are going to zero when the cutout/hesitation occurs. After my frustration, I uninstalled the mspnp, and reinstalled my stock ECU...and now all is well.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Something is telling your fuel injectors to shut off. Are you running the base map? try re-loading the MSQ.

Check the overrev protection setting. For some reason it might be set to go off that early.

it'll go above 2000 rpms... it's just that, power comes in and out and in and out and etc - and it's not gentle in any way..... it literally feels like i'm flooring it - letting go - flooring it - letting go in second gear... but i'm not doing that...i'm just lightly/steadily pressing the accelerator.

Where is this over-rev protection? I see anti-rev, and over-run...but no over-rev.

CRAIGO - overboost protection is set to 152.

Have you captured a datalog when this is happening? Send it over to our tech guys at websales@diyautotune.com and we can probably see exactly what's going on and help you resolve it.
