Default No Dash Tach, I have searched!

I have searched, and looked through 4 pages of results, but no one seems to have the exact problem I do, most are people with 1994+ cars

I originally thought this was due to me uninstalling my knocklite, which was spliced in behind the cluster to the blue/yellow signal wire, but that appears to not be the case, as that connection seems fine.

The 10a under dash fuse is ok

The car drives fine

Tach works in MT

Can the tach output part of the igniter be fucked and the car still run fine? Or would it simply not run?

What sort of voltage should I be getting at the yellow/blue wire behind the cluster?

Thanks

The yellow/blue wire should be giving you a 12v squarewave. The same wire also goes to the IG- terminal at the diagnostic connector under the hood.

Is your tach the only gauge on your cluster not working? It worked fine until you uninstalled your knocklite? Need more info

The tach is the only one not working yes. It did stop working when I uninstalled the knocklite, but I also rewired my MS to be more permanent at the same time etc

Easy to prove either way by swooping for a known good igniter
