Default Please HELP W/ MAC & WINDOWS & Megatune

So I have a PowerBook G4, OS 10.3.9

Ive been at it for 2days trying to get windows running, so I can use Megatune instead of Megatunix..

I downloaded this program called Q for free, which allows me to run a diff OS as a window inside of the MAC OS.

First I tried using my "reboot" discs(from my desktop), which were wayyyy to big..
Then I ran into a couple copies of windows xp re-install discs, but they didnt work (they were labeled for dell cpus only)

So THEN I found a thread here and I downloaded a copy of windows 98 "lite" , and even burnt it to a disk....but I cant get it to boot in that "Q" program I installed...

So can someone please help me out here??

never heard of Q before. it says on the webpage that it's Alpha, and you're running a very, very old copy of OS X. Not a good combination. Your G4 will keep you from running Bootcamp or the virtualization stuff from VMware or Parallels, you'd need an Intel Mac for that.

It's probably easier just to stick with Megatunix. Emulation of a behemoth like XP or even 98 is going to be slow, and the G4 is now a very geriatric processor. If you're really set on running Q, try upgrading to a recent version of 10.4. You could go to 10.5, but that's going to put the hurt on your processor too.

Id be willing to even delete the OS 10.3.9 and just install windows....If it was the only option..

I really wanna try to use megatune because of the autotune feature, plus most people here seem to be using it in case i need some help...

I dont have to use Q, i just found it for free so figured id try...
If anyone can give me the best route to go id appreciate it..

yeah, the size scares a lot of ppl away, i like the idea because i am using a 17" now and it sucks. I will be buying an eee pc and it will be a dedicated tuning laptop.

you could put linux on it and run WINE to emulate windows, im not sure how the usb support is though, you would just have to check it out.

Installing windows isn't even an option with your G4. Get virtualPC, it's not all that bad and you can run it in 10.3.9. Or figure out the linux wine operation.

well, if virtual pc doesnt run on mac os then you cant run it. I mean, its a microsoft product so i dont know why they would make it so you can install it on mac os.

I used to use Virtual PC back in highschool on the schools iMacs. Here is a link to an update, it's not free. It's made by microsoft man.

Why would i tell him to use virtual pc on his mac if it wasn't going to work with OS X? It works fine and is a good solution to your problem.
