I got a brand new Toshiba for a lap top. Since it doesn't have a serial port, I am using a USB to serial convertor. Whenever I try to connect to the MS unit, it tells me that I'm not connected in a valid port. I'm running everything off of com port 6 and when I test that port, it says that there's nothing there to talk to. I have all the drivers installed and It says it's functional. Anyone else have a problem like this?

That worked, but I wasn't running a port higher than 9. Strange, but it worked. I have it on port 1 now.
