Default TPS seen and unseen.

1993 chassis with ms pnp2. 2001 VVT block with 1999 BP4W head, square top and OEM TPS. Connected the TPS to the 93 harness per the internet, by way of a poster who had done same swap.

When I connect and set up basic settings, the ms sees the TPS and allows me to set and accept min and max values. When I backed it out of the garage for a test drive, I noted tuner studio was not showing any TPS changes. Stayed at 0.

I shut the car off, re did the TPS calibration and tried again with the same results. It will drive around the block, but this needs to be resolved before I go farther.

Anyone had this happen before?

Engine pic just for fun.

Verify there’s 5v at the harness, there’s not normally. If there is, your pins are most likely backwards. The calibration does nothing but store two values and interpolate between them, if it’s not getting a sweeping signal, itll read erratically.

somewhere in their instructions, I believe for the older 90-93 pnp units, there’s instructions on how to read the resistances of a tps to determine where 5v, gnd, and signal go. You’re not going to hurt anything by trying one of the other 5 or 6 combinations though.

I rather thought that could be it. However... I reloaded my most recent map, re-did the tps calibration, and all is good now. Huh? I don" get it either, but its working splendidly at the moment. I do sometimes wonder if the car is possessed.
