Default VSS Pull up on 1995 NA

Diyautotune told me I needed to install a new sensor to add VSS to my car. After reading here, I see this is not true and that I just need to run a pull up. I have 2 questions:

1. To get my computer to read VSS and ultimately see what gear I’m in, I need to run a 5v power output with a 1k resistor to my 3I pin on my cars harness before the MS3PNP? Will this then automatically give me speed?

2. What other info can I get from my car by running pull ups? Sounds like there may be ofther info I’m missing out on like knock? How many pull ups can I run per 5v output?

also, 4K for power, run a 1k resistor to 3I? Or to 1m? 3I was mentioned in a different thread but 1m looks like what I want per this pinout

no pullup needed for VSS. On 94-95, VSS is on 1M. Just connect it to a digital input.

disconnect wire from 1m and send to digital input on the options plug? Easy enough..

if no pull up is needed, why doesn’t 1m give a good signal for MS where it’s at?

Which MS do you have? I have the MS3PNP pro, was supposed to work out of the box but I had to make some base map tweaks.

I have the same computer. I used base map. Tuned it a little to spring pressure, then added an EBC and took it to a tuner for flex fuel blend

Interesting. I had to do absolutely no wiring mods.

you have vehicle speed and gear? Why does your speed and gear page look like? What’s your VSS input?

I have vehicle speed and odometer, and its accurate. I have not tried gear yet, I usually know what gear I'm in.

This is on my '95

Digital frequency 2 is the options port. So I never tried this before rewiring. Well, I returned the 1m to its 1 plug and left the configurations set to digital frequency 2 and sure enough. It still works. No rewrite needed with this ecu. Thanks!!

Yeah they broke some of the pins out to the options port as well.
