Is there anyone here in San Diego or within a reasonable distance with a stim and/or a laptop with a confirmed working serial connection that can help me get my car running?
I took my time to meticulously assemble the ECU so I don't think theres any problems with it, However its always a possibility and I wont rule out my stupidity as a cause for it not working, as well as not having any means for checking the ECU's functionality (other than the LEDs seem to function . . at least I grounded it properly . .)
I'm not exactly stupid, nor am I computer/car/MS wizard, but theres only so much knowledge I can absorb without actually, PHYSICALLY doing something, I read through the write ups DOZENS of times and its like my brain just refuses to comprehend it. I'm at my wit's end with this, I'm just mentally and physically exhausted, and I don't think 13-15 hour work days are helping. The last thing i wast is to let a potentially working MS just go to waste.
In conclusion(oh god . . Elementary school essays all over again . .lol)

PM braineack and he can look at the ECU For you... did you reflash it correctly? he's one of the coolest guys on eart...srysly, and he walked me step by step... even though it WASN'T his ecu build to begin with

No, I did not reflash it correctly, thats what i can't get done. I feel so daft whenever I start reading the software/installation part. And i also don't think my laptop is communication properly.
I don't want to bother Brainy. I think hes got better things to do than help out a kid with stupid questions.
I'll just try getting a laptop with an actual serial connection, so I don't have to go thru an adapter. Maybe connectivity will be possible like that.

Out of town, can't think. But yeah, I suppose it would be good. Not 100% sure on Sunday, but I think I have no plans beyond retapping my manifold, looking for a water leak. But if you two want to drop by my jimstim is at your service for sure. I should have some parts for your inputs as well - I'm just about to come back from the air force acedamy where I was testing some box-of-nefarious-purposes, and at the last minute needed to stock up on opamps so I have a handfull of radioshack's finest I could part with.

Set something up with Joe, then tell me when you two are showing up. And if you're serious about the steering wheel, I might take you up, mine's a little ugly. :-P

I dont mind Driving to either of your locations, However you should both decide on which one of you gets the wheel, if and when my car getz ta' runninz
And you can tell how badly I want my car running if im willing to give you an $800 airbag and a nardi torino wheel for it lol
But sunday is good for me, and brain. If it were the only thing to do, I would gladly give you the wheel but I'de much rather deal locally.

How's it going, anyway? It looked good when you left. Too bad getting the wires back would be a pain, I could have lent you my ECU to get down here. Going to check out some RC helicopters part of tomorrow (no word from joe) but I should be around at least part of the day. Well, call me. :-)

Oh dude im sorry, i guess joe didnt tell you, and i SHOULD have told you, he wanted to meet at ur place 5 hours from now (10am) but i guess if you are not available then it wouldnt be a great idea, I guess I'll just call you when i wake up.
Maybe I COULD just go up there, pick up your ms then drive back up . .oh wait i dont have my CPS hooked up . . well either way i cant think right now. I'll be functional after a few Z's
I never actually received the email with the drivers, and the ones i found online from belkin didnt work.
Like a dumbass i went and tried the MS as it was, may have fucked some **** up. i know i at least blew a fuse. hopefully nothing else.

It's starting to sound like you've got at least one bugaboo in your wiring. Where do you live? I was thinking of heading down by sea world drive anyways this morning. Maybe give me a ring when you get up, I might even have joe in tow. :-)
