Default Another post where Magna badmouths FMIC's while he sports a ratfucked engine bay!

OK I am almost done with it, just have the wiring left. The fuse holder wasn't in the box and the relay is not the same as what the instructions state. It has different wire colors. I have the pump and tank installed in the trunk. Any tips for good spots to get the ignition 12v and everything?

I am kinda at a loss on where to mount the pressure switch and where to best run all the wiring.

Anyways assuming i get the wiring right I am going to tape the nozzle to the window and drive around and make sure its working fine. I am running 6psi with the base GReddy + intercooler. Should I try 8btdc and then 10btdc?

Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of since I am sleepy. Later

Uh do 10 then rip out the stinkin IC, you dont need a ignition source you can just run straigh of the battery the chances of it going off when the car is off are seriusly slim to none. I didn't use the relay cause mine was junk. To test the on point of the switch just grab a bycycle pump and splice it in to the same line as a boost gauge depress the lever on the pump until the WI comes on and note the pressure on the boost gauge. You want 6 psi then up your boost to 10 psi and the timming to 10btdc and go spank some supras

Any "ign on" will work. Buy a fuse holder at radio shack. You'll have to drop a couple bucks on it. Don't forget the fuse (buy a few).

As for the instructions being different. Do you have a base or progressive kit? Both kits have instructions available at the Devils Own webpage. alcohol-injection.com. The page also has a forum.

Hooking everything up should be straight foward. Post with specific questions, I'll help if I can.

PS. Gonna run water, meth or blend, because I'm curious.

OK figured out the relay wiring now I just gotta figure out how to best run the lines. Too bad you cant really mount the pressure switch in the trunk. That would make it all nice and contained in the trunk.

Thanks for the tip.

I figure this tiny td04 turbo will work best with TWO means of cooling the hellfire hot air that comes out of it. Double the lovin'.

Thanks UofACATS. I picked up the fuses and holder. I am going to run washer fluid for now. I have like 5-6 gal of stuff that is 34-37% methanol. I know there are tuns of 12+v ignition, but anybody mind telling me what they used?

EDIT: Oh, there is like no ******* easy way to get the damn level switch installed. I got it kinda on there can couldnt get both the washer and the nut on there, so I just went with the nut and a shitload of silicon sealant. Seems to be water tight for now, but what a bitch.

why not use the diagnostice fuse or maybe just run a wire from an interior light you dont use the pump only pulls about 10 amps max so it isn't realy heavy duty on that ****. ya know if you have a manual antena you can use the power antena hot wire.

I have mounted the pressure switch under the dash before. Tee off the boost gauge signal line.

Glad to see you are finally getting around to installing it. Also....ANDY FLOYD STILL HAS NOT FULLY PAID ME FOR HIS KIT!!!!!

WOT, I see that Andy is selling his turbo kit, he should have the money to pay you soon.

EDIT:
How much boost/ timing should be *safe*? I am thinking 10btdc and keeping it at 6psi. I still have those 330cc injectors, how much boost/hp would be safe if I just used that no FPR and stock pump? What is stock fuel pressure I kinda forgot. I would really love to run 10btdc + 8psi. I guess there is no real safe way unless I use a wideband. Bah, no money for one right now .

**** the level switch. Just check it every now and then. I'm in boost all the time on a m5 nozzle, and it empties slowly. I have a 4 qt tank for reference, however. I carry a bottle or three of HEET and a gallon of distilled water when I'm driving long distance, or to the track, or some place where I don't want to be shopping for meth at 3AM.

The colder the "rating" on the windshield fluid, the more meth it contains. After you run a couple tanks of that, try more meth and see what happens.

Dude, how anyone runs a car they built without a wideband is beyond me. Update that sig, so we know what's happening with your car. I see some good toys there, just some essentials missing.

Buy a wideband from WOT already.

Ya I have the 2.5gal tank, and I think the m3 nozzle (I think thats what I have.) so its going to take a while to empty. I am running right now some 34% methanol fluid. (Just to let you know that some brands of greater than -30f fluid have glycol and no methanol!) I have about 6 gallons of it. I am going to go to the store right now and pick up the stupid lines I need.

About the wideband; I am just too frigging broke right now to afford one! I am starting a new job on the 15th so more money should be on the way. I know there is always credit cards, but I really don't want to charge up mods in hopes of having money later to pay it off. :gay:

Well its 100% installed. I bumped the timing up to 10 btdc. I didn't really notice much in the way of a power gain. Feels a little more peppy I guess. The stupid nozzle is leaking on the outside. Think I should use a little silicone sealant to help seal it up?

The install was kinda a bitch for me I am sick of it and not going to look at it until tomorrow.

Well looks like ignoring the directions again bites me in the ***. I used a 11/32 bit but the nozzle didn't fit through. So I ignored the tap part and drilled the hole larger until the nozzle fit through.

This must be why its leaking! It would of been so easy to just tap it and screw it in! DOH! ****!

Well I will sort it out tomorrow. Any ideas to fix my retardness?

WEld up the old hole or use some jb weld then tap a new one. or retap the esxisting spot. Yeah leaking will suck. The fitting is NTP so don't run the tap all the way in also does your kit come with a nut or bung to help you secure it to the pipes i have found that when installing on thin pipes that helps me torque everything down better with no leaks. I just ran the tap through a bolt that was close to the same size and it worked just fine. Idealy you would weld the bung in place though
