cast manifold

If you've got a 1.6 and you want to do any significant amount of power upgrade, swapping it for a 1.8 (preferably an NB motor) should be your first priority.

Seriously .. I have a perfectly fine FM built 1.6 sitting here waiting for me to finish up this current project to install it into the next .. and half the time I seriously think about tearing it apart for the Carillo rods inside and building a 1.8 with it vs spending extra money to boost the 1.6 -_-

GO 1.8 EVERY TIME. I didn't listen to the advice and lived with the disappointment of a 1.6 for a couple years. First time I leaned into boost with the 1.8 i realized how much i miss having low end torque and half decent spool time.
To keep it relevant, i sold my 1.6 manifold and bought a 1.8 t25 manifold and massaged my 1.6 t25 original downpipe to fit. Mine is the one that has a 2.5" that necks up to 3" right after the shelf, one of the OG Kraken downpipes. Actually fits better on the 1.8 manifold than the 1.6 short of it needing clearancing on the steering shaft.
Boy did i mention having boost below 3k rpm is wonderful? I ran the same 2560 on both engines and it didn't make 12psi on the 1.6 until 3800 rpm(the soonest based off of logs, felt more like 4500). Haven't finished playing with my VE table on the 1.8 but i imagine it will make 12psi by 3k rpm or so based off the feel.
I look forward to buying and building a VVT engine and getting all the torques.

1.6 Group Buy here https://kraken-mx5.eu/product/1-6-lo...ipe-group-buy/
Everything else will be discontinued but may make a whole new top mount in the very near future

I have a question. Have you thought about trying to make a cast twinscroll EFR manifold? Perhaps the size required to run the runners would make it prohibitively heavy, I don't have access to programs to model it but I'm sure there would be a market now that the housings are FINALLY available.
