You don't have to block that off if you don't want to. The upper EGR port is the one "have to" block off. The bracket we offer for the lower EGR includes a bracket to mount the Fuelab fuel pressure regulator.

Does this mean that the EGR pipe can be taken out and port capped on the header side with no other mods if the EGR valve itself stays in place for now?

The upper EGR port has to be blocked off. The lower EGR port is optional.

Got any pictures of where the lower bracket mounts? I've got a JDM squaretop with no EGR provisions, but I'd really like that Fuellabs bracket.
