Late VIN 6 Speed Transmission in Need of Rebuild - $549
I originally told myself I was gonna rebuild this thing and make it my backup trans. However, after pulling the tailshaft and taking a look at my other stack of projects, I decided my time's spread too thin. Bottom line, I don't want to add this project to my list when there's so many other things I currently need to do to keep the car race-ready.
Trans is a late-VIN 6 speed that I ran for about six months before it developed an issue where it would get locked out of 5th and 6th gear for a couple minutes after doing a pull all the way to the top of 6th gear. The issue only happens at 120mph or above (my car's got a 4.3), otherwise it drives fine. Shifter's always been a little notchy, though. Maybe that's related to the issue. Thread outlining the issue in more detail here: https://www.miataturbo.net/suspensio...rarily-108971/
Anyways, I got a replacement transmission in the car now and would like this to go to someone who can diagnose, fix, and hopefully use it. I'm asking $549 plus shipping. Would prefer local pickup, but we're all pretty geographically spread out on here, so I'm willing to ship.
Needs a throwout bearing. Includes an NB speed sensor and a "custom" homemade short shifter that was included with the trans. I used it for a little bit before going to a MR short shifter. The shifter actually feels pretty decent but is definitely a little rough around the edges. Most will probably want to replace it with an OEM or MR shifter.
PM me with any questions or offers you might have.
Thanks,
-Zak
