Default 6 spd value?

I inherited a used 6 spd trans. The tag says it needs 4th and reverse synchros.

It did not include the shifter, clutch fork or any other accessories.

Rough idea of the value? I see good driving ones for $500 and up.

For those interested, I am in Fort Myers, FL. I am not really interested in shipping it, but if the offer is right I will.

thanks for the insight.

Scrap value. Going inside a transmission is a bit of a black science and takes a ton of labor. It is probably much cheaper to just buy a working 6 speed and shifter then what it would cost to be repaired.

In my opinion a transmission that needs a rebuild is pretty much worthless.

As a rebuild will cost more than just getting a good used one.

$100 to someone who needs parts for a rebuild. I'd take if off your hand if you were local, but I have taken apart a few 6 speeds just to get one good one. Some transmission shops might pay you for the core value.

Great race spare for someone. Most of my race boxes have had crunchy synchros. If you were local I'd give you $150 for it.

Savington - I wish I was closer, but at the same time I am glad that I am not that close to Cali..... lol

While cleaning up the shop yesterday, I found a 6 spd trans with only 21k on it. It was pulled for a spec miata build. The case didn't even have an oil stain on it.

I will have to get that one on craigslist soon.

Do you have the shifter? That will change the price and the NB1 and NB2 shifters are slightly different.

I haven't found a 6 spd shifter yet...... they are both NB1 trans from what I understand. More digging from the indoor junkyard maybe in order.

thanks for the advice!
