Selling a 1.8L 01+ VVT head i had purchased for a new setup im planning on doing but decided against. Only includes the head, valves, springs and retainers. Needs a good hot tanking and resurface. Perfect start if your going to get head work done and don't want to have down time. Get port and polish, resurface, 3 angle valve job done on this and then pop it on in a weekend, instead of having your car down for weeks sitting with the no cylinder head. Priced super cheap so don't hesitate this will go fast. See item condition in pictures below.

A head without matching cam caps is only good for scrap metal.

Even if you get some cam caps that will bolt on an align hone from a reputable shop is gonna run you like $300+

EDIT: I wanted to add that I wasn't meaning to crap on your thread. I have a tendency to be blunt, I just wanted people to know what they are getting themselves into financially if they get this head.

Im guessing this is because of changing tolerances?

Interesting enough, someone told me the same thing about main caps on the crank and how the rod caps also have to be the same and even assemble in the same orientation, but I believe that was due to balance.

It is because they are all assembled and torqued before being machined. If they are assembled in the wrong order then the bore of the crank or cam is distorted. It will ruin whatever cam or crank you have installed in there.

technically yes... the caps are not interchangeable.

yeah - I had my head line bored, without permission, and it's made a ticking sound ever since.

I want a new head, but without the cam caps... It's scrap.
