The car is at my rural vineyard site... so no internet connection. I tried to install a megasqirt, but it did not find firmware. Can i disconnect the ms and bring to a site that i have internet; oor, do i have to have it hooked to the car to download the firmware?

 

As long as you can supply 12v to the ms, it should load firmware. Otherwise, No.

 

And youll need a good healthy 1A+ supply. I was using a 500mA wall wart when I did this with mine and I chased my tail for hours wondering why it would fail port test. As soon as I hooked up my 5A bench supply, it worked just fine.

 

download the firmware that's loaded on the MS, and point to .ini file when creating a new project in TS.

 

I did try this last night and wasn't able to get very far before it got dark.

Under new project, I was able to get it to identify:
MS3 release 1.3.4 2015012315:56GMT(c)jsm.kc

I was unable to successfully browse and load an .ini file

I'll play with it again tonight and see if I can get the project going.

btw, I couldn't resist cranking it just once. It fired right up... then died as no fuel pump.
