I have a 1997 Miata that has been swapped with a 95 BPE8 Engine.
BP05 is the original head code not sure if that corresponds with what the factory ecu is.

1997 Parts on the 95 engine
Engine harness
Coil pack
Coolant temperature sensor
Damper with Crank angle sensor added to the block

Everything else is from the 95 engine including the CAS the car currently runs and drives on the stock 97 ECU

I have in my possession a DIYPNP built for a 1.6l engine. I also have a plug that I'm hoping will fit a 97 harness (the car is about 2.5 hours away from me but ill be with it in a couple days). I have been searching for what I need to swap on the board to make this ecu connect and run my engine. I have found a fair bit of info on running a 1.8l in a 1.6l chassis but not anything that involves making a 1.6l ecu run in a 1.8l chassis. At the very minimum I know I would need to rewire the I/O from the harness to the board based off of DIYautotunes website. I do not know what needs to be changed with regard to the TPS and IAC wiring. I am on the fence about continuing this project or just buying a generic MS and using my plug to make a harness. Looking for some input on if this project is worth the time or not and if so what would need to be done.
