Default first start+cop=running lean?

Hi

during winter i turboed my mx-5(90 NA) and changed everything during that period, so it's basically my first startup

i changed every gasket,installed a turbokit,MSpnp9093,and 460cc+toyota COP

i went on and loaded maps from ''distrubfan'' that i got here i think, at least it's some base map so that i could start it safely

so i changed dwell setting is seen on some topic here
set crankikg to 4.5 and running to 2.5 minimum discharge stays to .5
gapped to .45,and hope everything would runs as it's suposed to do.

actually,it did start on the first crank, have a wonderfull idle, no miss fire at all, but LC1 reading indicate quite lean mixture on idle. goes lean to leaner (from 14 to 19:1) after maybe 2-3 minutes.

is it normal, i even boosted the cold start enrichement, and it still goes leaner and leaner as it's running on idle.
as soon as i toutch the throtle AFR return to normal, 12-13:1 and then goes slowly lean till it goes to 18-19:1
is it the COP that cause the leaner mixture? i even checked the plug after 5-10 min of idle, and it looks like i'M running rich, not lean.

i set in MS that i was using a LC1, and both the gauge and megatune read the same.so could it be just a setting, or my lc1 is all messed up and i'm not having the right reading, because, both gauge and megatune says i'M running lean, but my sparkplug tells me i'm running super rich.

i'm frensh and i have a petty hard time translating but i'm doing my best.

hope you have 2 minutes for that kind of question,it'll be greatly appreciated

1. Make absolutely sure you are firing on all 4 cylinders. If you are firing on 3 cylinders, you will have a LOT of oxygen reaching the O2 sensor. This will cause you to "read lean" and "run rich" at the same time

2. The cranking/warm up enrichments fade away completely after a couple minutes, so richening those areas will not richen your normal operating numbers.

i got no missfire at all, and the iddle is surprisingly clean. it even revs free to 3-4k rpm with next-to-no-hesitation.
if we keep in mind that the car made barely 10 minutes of idle and 0 miles as of now, i'm pretty happy to have a clean idle/warm up.

tonight i'll try making some change to my VE table,as stated above, the car runs way to clean to be runnign on only 3 cylinder, i even checked each plug and they were more black than white.wich lead me to think that i'm running super rich, not super lean. i'll do a spark test tonight just to be sure, but i'm pretty sure allready

i used some base map found on the net, could the fact that i have a ms1 and those maps would be incompatible?(a bit noob on MS version)

i fear that my lc1 might be fucked up, i used the same uinit for a coupl years, but it was doing a flawless job on my mx-3 for so long, i cant see why it would have decided to work all weird over winter

reasons i think it might be wrong, is first of all my plugs are in no way showing some lean signs, and that megatune and the lc1 gauge use the same signal wire. if it was a wrong setting in MS/megatune it would read off on only one of the screen(gauge/ms)

i need to sort this and only this so that i can get the car out of the garage, my ''street tuner'' let's call it like this is comming to my place this monday, and i cant imagine the scenario if my lc1 wasent working ok when he shows up

Did you put the resister in? It's required for the MS, iirc.

i used a pre-fab used set that i bought here, i did not build it,thus i neevr checked if it had the resistance on it

but i'm running a PNP,i've read that i didin't needed it since it was not a DIY(?)

Sorry for reviving this thread, I didn't want to start a new thread. Where do you ground it? I have about the same problem, idle is really clean (14-14.8) cruise is normal (15-16) but WOT is lean (17-19). My wideband is grounded to the back of the head (where the old coil was mounted) and so is my COPS. Could they interfere each other? Would installing cops change my ve table (thus making it lean)? I'm going to check more things later this weekend: check spark plugs, misfiring (remove one coil and see if it still runs the same), vacuum leaks, duty cycle, recalibrate wideband, and fuel pressure.
