You don't know if the car is pinging if you aren't using det cans. BP engines are so rough and agricultural-sounding that it is very difficult to hear pings unaided.

you should hear my mini countryman at cold start. There are diesels built in the 80s that are quieter.

Jerry's car did not detonate when it went home. (I can hear the detonation on the dyno and I also have a second person watching the tail pipe for silent detonation) The injectors were NOT at 100% Duty cycle, though I imagine it is not too far off. It WAS on the threshold of needing a new fuel pump though. All the fuel calculations are only as good as what you can prove in a car. There is plenty of proof that we did 230 whp on stock injectors. Jerry can easily post a photo of his injectors to prove it. Ya'll are such negative nellies. LOL.

The one bad/good definite thing we found in testing is that the new kit will fail a stock clutch at 6 psi. It did so rather quickly on 4 different cars. Good because it makes that much power and torque, bad because it is one more part to replace.

this will make you northern dwellers laugh, but I'm out cutting the lawn at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, breaking a slight sweat lol! I did go to the Dyno, have a print out but am waiting for a better email, 225 horsepower 200 torque, air-fuel ~11.8 - 12. talk to text, gotta finish the lawn, but will post a graph for proof. Well done Stephanie

This goes against EVERYTHING that EVERYONE HERE has EVER experienced ON OUR CARS.

And if you tune on the dyno without det cans or any other means of actually detecting knock, and you simply "listen" for knock from outside the car.....well.........your company better have the most airtight release of liability to sign and one heck of a good lawyer.

PS: I'm just waiting for someone to drop the "250whp on stock injectors" comment

So, they were DEFINITELY NOT at 100% duty cycle, but you have to imagine that they're not far off? Are you sure you're not imagining them being below 100% DC?

Seriously... If you're gonna come in here and post in this train wreck thread, at least post bullshit that's BELIEVABLE.

It means that their setup is achieving a BSFC of under 0.41 (which it what it would take stock injectors at a delta P of 52.5psi at 100%dc to make ~240 crank hp). Did the car get a diesel swap?

Jestmaty is not a figment of anyone imagination, he's a 49/50 something yr old guy with two teenage boys, with 5 other issues going on at the moment and is expecting 4 different people to return his damn calls

No, Stephanie isn't one of them :-)

On my ' to do' list tomorrow is to have the guys who did my dyno today to send me the ' official ' dyno plot that was done literally 5 hours ago

Numbers and a/f are correct

Learned the shop has been open for about a month, but, but, but.... the owner operator Jay has about 15 yrs experience?

GM2000, being facetious?

Love the big words, I'm a homebrewer, enjoying my spoils, so if I go south shortly, I blame it on home brew

Well, I'm convinced.

Please excuse my incredulity, but he must be running a stock muffler, really quiet tires, and the dyno must have a smooth untextured drum to be able to hear so well. Every dyno run I've ever heard has been in a metal warehouse building and has involved people having to yell at the top of their lungs to be heard during a pull. It must have been magical to be making pulls in such a quiet way as to allow lifter noise to be discerned from piston slap or light detonation. This is a solid lifter car, you know.

Congratulations on your success.

Ya I think Jay was his name, he was just working out of his personal garage at that time if we are talking about the same person, I am pretty sure his business was called HP Motorsports. I had a '01 Bullitt that I was looking to have some work done too and was going to have him do the work since my friend with a Cobra was very satisfied with his work and said he specialized in Pony cars.

And, I have to be making more torque at that lower RPM (duh )

Has my perspective been re-aligned correctly?
Horsepower is how fast work can be achieved.

So, you know they are not at 100%, but you imagine they are not far off of 100%... Which is it? Do you know something or imagine it?

If you know they are not at 100% that means you know what % they are at... doesn't it?

Keith

PS: I know 100% where any new parts I get are not coming from, I imagine that I will be getting them from Flyin' Miata.
