I'll dig up the old thread when I have a moment.
Its nothing new. At all. Same cookie cutter manifold most here run. In fact, its almost identical to the weld el mani I built back in 2008. Cool story bro. |

What's the rest of the changes, though? I can't believe that even Stephanie would claim a 10% power increase just by going to that manifold.
Lol oh wait. Maybe i can. The biggest changes were the new manifold and going to an external wastegate. I am doubtful of 10% power increase over their old S4, but might buy it over their normal cast manifold. The one thing I liked about the design was how easy it was to actually install the turbo on the manifold.

Well then, you need to get your damned priorities straight.

At this moment I'm really curious how my car will react with the current ITB setup and turbo. Couldn't find much on the web about ITB+turbo on a miata.
|
The sad thing is how long they have used a customer's car to build this. Dropped off in November and still doesn't have it... http://houstonmiataclub.com/index.php?topic=3415.0

That looks very similar to my ETD shorty

Yep, exactly. Which I copied too in my 1st build.
I guess I had a ALPHA-OMEGA kit on my '00 and didn't even know it  Too bad I didn't have any GTR's or Lambo's to smoke. |
BEGi revolutionized turbo Miatas by making a manifold that has been around for a decade.
I guess thats where the name comes from. Getting biblical up in this bitch. Ancient manifold rises from the dead to heal our sins. |

At least this is better than being told I HAVE to use the 1.6L downpipe because my car is a 90. Nevermind that 95 1.8L motor I put in. That doesn't matter, your car should use the 1.6 parts because that is what it is. :hustler: Or just asking how the intercooler pipes were routed and told they can't tell me that. I'd just have to order the parts and see. :hahano: |

That is about par for the course there. Heck, There was certain NC that lived there for over a year(iirc) for development of a kit. Owner got tired of waiting and said give it back.

While they certainly have earned a bit of a reputation for tardiness, it warrants remembering that Bell was really the first company to produce a high-quality, well-engineered turbo system for the Miata, and is easily the longest-lasting name in the business. Until about 5 years ago, even the Flyin' Miata turbo system was a re-branded Bell package (FM was the authorized exclusive distributor for Bell at the time.) |

They were more than partially right. You still want the 90-93 DP in order to mate your cat.
The physical location of the turbo stays in the same place, regardless of a 1.6L or 1.8L. If you had a 94+ cat, then that would have been a different story. But I doubt that's the case and I would lol if I had known all this, knew you in real life, and found out your DP didn't fit after you "schooled" them. Sidenote: FM makes a 1.6L to 1.8L DP. Just a different flange on the end to mate the cat. |
Who the fuck puts a turbo on their car then leaves the stock 1.6 cat there?
Regardless, the shit with the intercooler piping question is hilarious. That's when you follow up with "Thanks for the lack of information, I'll be giving a different vendor my money." |

I'd take the job. I don't particularly enjoy Corky, but i could turn that shit around. |
