^^ Truly appreciate the praise, the results just keep adding to our own excitement.. This is going to be a very nice solution.
Oh and... if this doesn't give you that warm fuzzy feeling I don't know what will... This manifold looks VERY good. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446147247 |
After seeing the assembled manifold, I was this >< far away from posting a "MUST NOT FAP" internet meme pic right here, but I haven't been on this forum long enough to know if that's in good taste ;)
So. Hawt. |

Not appropriate to post that you must not fap.
For this forum, you'd need to post something like this: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446151642 |

Alright - The test vehicle is just about wrapped up and we're moving forward on production kits this weekend. We have a customer testing a RHD configuration for us, as far as I can tell there will be zero issues with RHD compatibility.
The "other guys" vs our kit. Very pleased with the fitment and clearances we were able to get with such a bigger, internally gated turbocharger. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446739110 https://farm1.staticflickr.com/748/2...ec282b6a_z.jpg |

Alright fellas, we've put the product page together. Your order will place you next in line behind the pre-production kits.
Pricing - We'd like to emphasize, the pricing is not ONLY a reflection of the quality of work that went into these kits, we're using the highest performing and one of the most expensive turbochargers on the market. The material cost also contributes highly - the CNC'd flange alone is enough to make a grown man cry. Also, the BOV and Wastegate are INCLUDED, not an up charge! Tuning - We'll be offering Dynotronics tuning packages in a number of configurations, Purchase hardware w/tune, Rent hardware w/tune, re-tune (for existing Dynotronics customers). If you'd like details on tuning before the product page is appropriately updated, please send us an email. Fueling - You can choose from two different injector flow rates depending on your power expectations. We will have tunes dedicated to these injector flow rates and our EFR kit. Fuel components are discounted when packaged with a turbo kit. Battery - We are offering a light weight, high output AGM compact battery for those looking to keep the factory location, otherwise we have a relocation kit available. Shipping - Our shipping remains the same as every other product on our website ONLY $9 This pricing does not apply to the pre-production customers, our anyone outside of the Continental US. Product Page HERE! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446765910 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446765910 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446765910 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446765910 |
Extremely impressive, Bryan. Great work.
|
My wife dropped her mucus plug today and is now randomly experiencing real contractions instead of the crappy fake braxton hicks stuff. Sounds like my son will be here before my kit ;)
|
Well now I have a problem... Do I proceed with my turbo build for my nb? Or do I sell everything and get a NC.
Ugh... |

*check bank account* not for me just yet, but great work!

I know that Fab9 has their first prototype rolling around now, Joe from Dynotronics had also mentioned some basic tuning done. I'm hoping Fab can post in here with any updates he feels can be shared...

Sorry for the lack of updates, black Friday left us consumed beyond our expectations.
This past Saturday we received the material to finish the revised maf tube - The piece came out beautiful... This one is being sent off to our prototype car in TX. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1450209443 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1450209443 We produced a number of intercoolers and changed the design once more. The new IC is a custom cast end tank, better flow, CNC outlet/inlet, quicker production but overall more expensive to produce initially. We're hoping to make some serious progress this week now that these hurdles are out of the way. |
Beautiful stuff Bryan. Glad to see development still underway.
|
You guys have no clue if this will fit RHD do you?

Cheers man, I skimmed as hard as I could in 3 minutes but missed it.
If it truly fits, Ill take one as soon as I can. Dann |
Whats the chances of selling just the flange for those of us with a nonstandard duratec application who also done want to have to import a flange from europe.
|
In the spirit of keeping pre-production customers and followers up to speed:
With the intercooler design finalized on our completely stock NC we've received enough aluminum to complete the first 9 kits. We're using 4ply silicone (yes, it's complete overkill) stainless t-bolt clamps and fully polished 6061-T6 Aluminum tubing. The MAF tube will be more robust than the rest of the kit with a step up in diameter and increased wall thickness. We are offering optional powder coating in limited finishes so please if you have feedback on colors you'd like to see, speak up. Wrinkle Black is an in-house favorite thus far. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Az...=w1215-h911-no

Why are they in different locations???
|
They aren't. They are not all standing in the same orientation. The one laying down is a prototype built to match the specs of the first vehicle with the kit.
|
One is not flipped like the other.

We're behind schedule but trust that it's worth the wait. I appreciate the patience from our customers. A jig revision allowed us to have better access with the tig torch. We're now back full speed ahead on the NC kits.
This is quality that I can ASSURE you won't find in any other solution out there. Believe me, we've seen pictures. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1451940840 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1451940840 |
nom nom nom those welds.
|
Is there any issue with the coating/finishing of the sealing surface on the MAF flange? I would think for optimum sealing, a machined-bare finish would be ideal.

Ah Yis, I understand. Very well then.
This set-up is beautiful, as everything from the Fab9 department. Nice work! |
I... Am interested.

Ok guys - We're absolutely thrilled with the fitment. We're mocking up each of the pre-production kits before completion until we're confident our jig leaves ZERO room for error and so far each of them is so accurate we can swap between downpipes/manifolds without issue.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1452796575 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1452796575 As an unforeseen bonus, the FACTORY heat shield works! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1452796575 |
This is the coolest kit ever. With NC prices dropping like a rock, I will definitely buy an NC just for this kit. As long as the first guys to get theirs give good reviews.

Alright one last teaser pic... This is Manifold 0003 and we're starting to associate them with pre-production customers. This is the final design and leaves a mile of room for the charge pipe to exit. We will have photos of the downpipe and mid-pipe adaptation kit shortly. This might be disappointing to those who enjoy "weldporn" but I believe we are able to produce the DP's with very little pie cutting. Not to toot our own horn but; these manifolds are truly a work of art though.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453231054 In other areas of news we will be pre-clocking all of the turbos for easier fitment during installation. |

Alright guys - these are the injector of choice and the injectors that will be most compatible with our tuners base maps. We're stocked up on them so if you're in need please don't hesitate to order. Choose the 800cc DW Injectors for the NC. Leave a note during check-out and we will include stickers.

What do you have thats bigger than 800's those are going to start to get borderline on a 6758 even on 93.

Yes, I should have clarified. The 800cc will be what the map is based on and can clearly be adjusted accordingly.

Someone pointed out a subtle stab directed toward us from another vendor and I'd like to address it with facts, as a professional. We don't consider their product a direct competitor for many reasons, but I won't have snide comments out there left unaddressed. Our kit is the premium solution, on every level, hands down. Just as it was intended to be from the beginning.
The statement was: "The blues and purples look nice, but those are shades you see right before the chromium boils away and weakens the weld." This is false. Plain dead wrong. First, the HAZ is super small on our welds, as it should be, thanks to expensive boutique #12 cups, and 30chf. Second, chromium definitely leaves the stainless during welding, which is why you use 308 rod on 304 to replace it. We didn't accidentally ceramic coat our manifolds before taking pictures of proper welds. It's all about fitment, proper penetration, quality materials and knowing how to handle a tig torch. If you'd like to save a few dollars by all means there are solutions out there, we simply won't cut corners when the market is in need of a premium solution. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 Quick break and we wanted to share this before we get back to wrapping up the day-to-day around here.. There are products to achieve this already on the market but they look like they belong on a garden hose, not our turbo kit... To source the coolant for the turbo we tossed some aluminum tubing on the lathe and cut these up... https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 There was also discussion about a "track ready" intercooler that "no other kit features" so I'd like to leave this here... Full 3.5" thick monster intercooler with unbelievable exposure after installation. Plus, these end tanks are formed inside with airflow dynamics in mind, not a shape that appears to be the result of fabrication limitations. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 The mount is a robust 1/4" water jet aluminum plate that is being welded to each IC this evening. None of that flimsy 1/8th sheet metal stuff here! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1453496891 We're on our 5th downpipe and here is another example of absolutely perfect penetration. These are also welded in short sections at a time to keep from warping the flange. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1442/...5b54365e_z.jpg |
Bah! Smoke and mirrors!

Actually, the jab didn't come from he whom you've insinuated. Surprising turn of events, it was!
Also, as was pointed out a few posts ago, the 800cc's may or may not be sufficient for some people's intended goals. Brian also has 1000cc ID's in stock which is what I purchased for my Fab9 kit. Sounds like we pre-prod folks may see our kits on our doorsteps as early as next week. w00t. |
Brian's final invoice just arrived in my inbox 30 minutes ago, just paid that off that bad mofo and looking forward to taking a few vacation days under my car!

Tonight we wrapped up our "jig" set of intercooler pipes and the battery base plate. Couldn't be more pleased with the finished piece. This setup supports our AGM 680 battery and slightly repositions the power steering reservoir. No need to relocate it and run power steering lines all over your engine bay. If you're a pre-production customer that has not already purchased this setup, and don't want to relocate your battery please reach out to me.

Cant wait for mine to come in...Probably going to start tearing down this next week to get ready.

Yeah and I messed up -- saw the invoice for the downpipe and AGM setup (and a pair of guages) and wrongly assumed it was the last invoice. Seemed delightfully low :D
Still gotta get my atmospheric tune so I can flesh out my dyno baselines, otherwise MY BODY IS READY. Oh, and the clutch install looks like Dante's Inferno, 9th level of hell type of bullshit. I might pansy out and pay someone else to do that. Not that I couldn't do it, it just looks like I really do not WANT to do it :D |

The decision was made to produce a downpipe adaptation kit. This setup will allow the user to utilize their factory exhaust system AND leave them with a nice 3" V-Band for future use with an aftermarket exhaust system.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1454029999 As you can see it fits beautifully. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1454029999 The first three sets of intercooler pipes were completed today, these are for the shop NC (keeping with the purple theme). https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1454029999 |

I am at such an impasse! I have thousands upon thousands of dollars of parts for my 01, ready to start building it into a streetable SuperMiata-ish build. However, NC prices are dropping like a rock and the NC is just a flat out better chassis (I have owned both). Do I take the plunge and start selling off all my NB stuff and get an NC to work towards having this glorious kit? Decisions, decisions...
