Default Garret 2560 BEGI S3 Problems

Hello guys,
I bought a Begi S3 with a Garret2560 from a friend of mine and today i found this:

The Turbo (as the kit) has about 10k road miles and 1/2k track miles. Boost always at 10 Psi.

What could be the reason of this in your opinion?
Anyways. What to do now? Can I rebuild this or is better to move on to a different turbo?
My car is a 93 with a 99 1.8 engine , stock internals, maybe in the future some rods. But for now would want to keep it stock.

Do you run it without an air filter or something? Looks like it took in a rock...

'tis be dead in my opinion.

Either 'new' replacement 2560rs same turbo or w/e your goals be upgrade

You can find a chra+compressor housing online. Have a local shop repair the turbine for you. Send it off to be balanced after new build/reseal.

Call Garrett you should be able to do a CHRA exchange for about $450 on that. It is your best and cheapest option to get going quickly with a real Garrett turbo.

that doesn't look like a Garrett wheel whatsoever.

the shaft is going to be bent as well. it needs a chra replacement, which includes the turbine, chra, and compressor wheel. at $450 that's a steal.

Hello Guys,

Thanks a lot for your help

I think that the Garret CHRA exchange for about $450 is only for US costumers. I am in the Portugal so I think I am screwd. :(

Another thing, as you can see in the video there are metal shavings around there. Can I clean my intercooler or should I replace it?

Give Garrett a call and talk to them. They will know about the CHRA exchange.

Braineack, but my car has not even started with this kit . It was installed in my friends car and during the installation on mine I noticed this . There's the reason I am asking about the intercooler . I don't want to screw my engine

Yeah blow all the stuff out first. I doubt there's much in there but it's cheap insurance. Buy a cheap SR20 T25 in the meantime and ream out your "friend" for being such a moron.

Anyone who sold you that turbo in that condition without mentioning it is not a friend.

You can clean out the intercooler, for metal bits like that backflush it.

To be honest he didn´t knew . He is one of my best friends. He insisted he would pay a brand new turbo immediately as soon as I told him the bad news.

Well, anyways, waiting for a reply from Garret. Thank you all guys

I Think that's a divine sign telling you to wait for my turbo parts to arrive. Bad things can happen when you have more 100rwp than i do
