I'm not saying I care or anything because I don't, and no I'm not crying I just got some dirt in my eye, but I'm so proud of you guys. Crusher too. (I wanna be just like Crusher when I grow up.)

That's not including being towed in. Under two hours for the swap.

Yea I know that’s a two hour and nine minute lap on the timing computer that included being towed in and doing a complete motor swap then going back out. Has to be some kind of a record!

Crew was like a Freakin awesome well-oiled machine!

On the topic of brakes, I hope someone got video of Chris and the pass. side guys doing a pad change. I'm pretty sure I ended up with the nice thick heat gloves during every pad change, and Chris and the other guys still either matched or beat Brian and I every time. Having at least 2 sets of heavy duty gloves and using Chris' system next year could cut even more time out of our pad changes.

I did have some heat resistant gloves most the time. Just not as protective as yours. Although I generally just used a screwdriver or something else to poke at hot things so could have probably been fine even without gloves. Although one time I accidentally flicked a hot pad next to a new one and picked it up by mistake. I was sitting there wondering why my hand was so hot.

Probably the coolest trophy an amateur racing driver can obtain.

Congrats to the entire 949 racing/trackspeed team.

To win takes a huge amount of effort and cooperation from everyone involved. I came by a couple times and didn't want to bother anyone to say hi since everyone was working so hard and focused. After the race I had to get home so it ended up I really never got the chance hi. Maybe next year I will head up Friday.

The only thing that would make that trophy cooler was if it had 25 hours on the face of the clock.

I thought that too!

I get a little choked up when I tell people outside the team about the experience. They think I'm a bit strange but they will never get the sense of pride and accomplishment you get when you are part of something like this.

I do have to admit I felt a bit of relief when we decided to retire Nemo. We could have decided to go back out and turn laps on a motor with 100 compression in #2 and 3 plus cooling issues and waited for it to grenade but putting Kitty's spare in would have been the wrong choice considering where Kitty was running and putting the Crusher spare in would have been rolling some dangerous dice. Nemo just seemed doomed that day and the gremlins we battled the night before qualifying were only a hint at what would happen next. Nemo deserves to be resorted and come back in 2013 for a redemption campaign!

On the 2:09 motor swap - Savington is master wrench and a fantastic leader. A few months ago the driver roster was being discussed somewhere and the topic of Andrew being a pretty hot shoe came up. Emilio flatly said that Andrew wasn't going to drive because he was too valuable in the garage. Although he did get a few stints in the driver's seat this year, I couldn't agree more. As good as our crew was, I felt a sense of calm and confidence when Andrew was there that was missing when he wasn't. There are a lot of guys that can turn fast consistent laps without using up the car but nobody that can do what he can under pressure with a wrench.

I actually know exactly what you are talking about, but to a slightly lesser degree. I helped out a team at vir during our 13 hour race. Since it was a grand am team, that was also running 4 spec miatas, they still had their official crew who took care of all of the big things, but it was still something special to see one of our cars take the class win.

When I crewed for RHarris chump team at the TWS 24 and they won, I was totally emotional and didn't even drive, lol. I'm not sure if it was because we were on edge from midnight until 11am, or because of low test, but it was one of the most awesome things I've done in my life. I seriously regret not driving in that, one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life.
