Read the rules here: https://www.nasaproracing.com/rules

3 points for non-BTM shocks, no reservoirs
2 points for non-BTM springs

Xidas = 5 points.
Was that addressed to me? I have read the TT rules at least 100 times, going back to my Mustang in 2009 or so.

Here is a link to the actual rules rather than your crappy general link:

https://nasa-assets.s3.amazonaws.com...cial_Rules.pdf

So to spoon feed you, here is the complete rule rather than your edited crap:

2) Non-BTM shocks/struts/dampers with a “Piggy Back” external reservoir (fixed reservoir
without a connecting hose) OR with shaft diameter 40mm or greater—must still take
additional points for the springs below +5 (May have spherical tops and/or bottoms)

So, I have done a year with NASA TT in a Mustang, I have done three years with NASA in CMC, and now am looking at an NB1 TT car, so tell me how I get 3 points for Xidas with the 46mm shaft diameter.

Hey, I am trying to find a cheap NB1 Miata to build for TTE, and I would love to have the extra two points, but tell me why the 46mm diam Xidas don't take the points.

Well, because "shaft diameter" is different from "piston diameter."

Ah, thanks. I ***umed that shaft diameter was the controlled spec because every performance shock notes it. So every time I read the rule I converted piston to shaft. Sorry.

Would an intake like this be assessed for more than 1 point in TTE? Hole saw to the inner fender well.

How long does Nasa take you to send you a confirmation email when you sign up for their hpdes? I signed up for one today and they didn't send me an email nor did they charge my cc.

Hm, maybe you should email or call your NASA region instead of posting in some random forum that's discussing TT/PT, not HPDEs...?

I usually get confirmation emails immediately after registering through nasaproracing.com

I'm sorry your highness. If it bothers you that much I will delete my post. I thought someone here would know since registration may be a similar process for hpde and tt. I'm working through hpdes to be eligible to run tts.
Anyways, I appreciate your answer, I figured it out thanks to you.

Yes, as I said before; "Opps, as soon as I saw 'Reservoir' I quit reading." Xidas don't have them, so I didn't fully read the section.
40mm is over 1.5 inches. That seems really big for the shaft size. The ASTs/Xidas seem to be around 15mm.

Looks like 1 point to me, section C.1 on p.31. But your regional TT/PT director or Tech guy would be the judge; or I guess anyone that wants to protest it.

I considered doing that at one point but I'm pretty sure it's illegal. Email Greg to be sure.

Congrats on the win and new record Dan! Hopefully I'll meet up with you at NCM or Mid-Ohio this year. Wait, are you going to do Hyperfest at ViR in May?

MS3 Pro

Xida 1000/400
stock sway bars
OS Giken & 4.77

Pretty much what we ran in 2013 but now with 2pts leftover that I would use for ELBJ's.
I really want to do this build listed above, I had it planned out for a good while now. However, the engine build I quoted in bold..... I just can't justify dropping the money on a rebuild like that just to have the rules change on me next year.

Braian, just do HPDEs this year with your car as-is. The rules for D/E will likely change next year and definitely the year after that. You might end up with a good combo for TT6.

What kinda intakes are you guys running? I know it is the stupidest thing to overthink, but that's all I do. I'll research for 2 months before building anything.

Racing Beat Intake & dryer hose from the radiator inlet to the hole below the left headlamp. The rest stock.

Corrugated hose? That kills flow. Gotta be smooth inside and largest radii possible.
