This weekend will be the biggest run group ever for PTE @ Mid Ohio. 16 or 17 cars.
Two very fast aero/vvt dyno reclass NAs (Montgomery and Leicty)
At least one full points Nb1 (Kopitski) in the old 949racing "Bubbles" car. Basically running the Mt.net/Trackspeed/949 paper theory points build. I think. He posted a Facebook pic with an airdam. So we'll see how he shows up.
Three PTE* NB1 (myself on brand new-to-me 1000/500 setup and Killian Jr/Sr)
One PTE* na8
a points Sentra (PT director)
a BMW 318
and a focus
a handful of other unknown to me Miatas.

It it is my first PT race after earning my provisional last month.

It will be decided at morning meeting whether we standing start or rolling start.

Im so excited.

Oh man I wish I could be there to watch that. It's mildly ironic that I have probably done more to grow PTE/TTE after I left then when I was in it.

Don't hate, but I am rooting for Kopitski.

Gross.
Im just hoping to keep up. Hopefully my hometrack knowledge can keep me towards the front of grid for the start. Then we'll see. Lol.

Not the driver, the car. Having successfully run a slower version of the NB1 points car against arguably the best dyno classed car in the country at the time, I'm a firm believer in it. Their car represents everything I (think I) know about PTE.
Best of luck but I think you're bringing a knife to a gun fight. (sorry).

I hope Dave moves to PTD so we can have some fun. He is taking his build in a good direction. Mid Ohio does enjoy a lighter car though, seems like most people will be in the same boat.

Hope the Watkins Eastern Champs has a car count like that in ANY PTx class. Will make it awesome!

How can you fit A7s in a E points build?

Think you mean R7. A7s are +22pts. Virtually banned.

R7s and 135/2320 with SM dampers with 800/450s IIRC got me in the 51.0s around Sonoma in 2014. That build with with R7 or even SM7 will be pretty damn lethal.

I still don't even have space for 22pt tires in my 79pt build.

There might be better ways to use your points. My paper build is 192whp, 2410 lbs, 205 A7's, splitter, air dam and wing. Power level hit with ginormous cams. It would be a 30hr grenade motor but yeah, 192whp.
If 2320# @170whp on SM6's got a low 1:48 at Sonoma (no splitter) I'd venture 1:46's in good weather for the above build.

So is that what Crusher weighed?

Crusher was the only PTC car we ever ran. Sonoma record was after nationals when they closed the MSM loophole. I lost some points so got rid of the splitter, took points for the LSD so added the OS Giken. Could no longer run A6's so SM6's only. New dyno class from Greg was 2320# IIRC. I ran 2350# at 2012 Mid-O nats I think. Ended up being just as fast after a few tuning tweaks to suspension and OS Giken. In Mid-O lap record videos you can hear lots of wheelspin with the stock MSM diff (ugh).

Sorry for the hijack..

I do not deem that hi-jacking it will be used for this thread when it becomes ST4 related.

Do do you have a dyno sheet from that PTC build?

15-16 in PTE?! That sounds like a fun field. Hopefully I won't be too late to the party next year when I jump into PT.

We officially have 17 in PTE for MidOhio this weekend as of this writing if everyone shows up! (which will be a new record!)
