Drop spindle discussion
#81
I recently installed the rear driftworks knuckles in my s13. I had to go from 16 to 17" rims to stop the LCA scrubbing the inside of the wheel under hard compression, had to change shocks to stop them from fouling on the drive shafts (I have larger skyline gtr diff and shafts). There was a few other small things like rearranging brake lines, but nothing major. These are obviously very specific to the car and the more extreme 40mm drop, but still some things to be aware of for these types of products.
But one some designs are tested to be working (suitable bearings etc), it's "just" a question of persuading friends with machinery that it could be fun to test (Unless there are some that sells something with reasonable drop).
But I have many, many other things to do before this can get some prio (the stock stuff actually works ).

I paid about a grand a few years ago, before Maruha sold them. Tons of track miles, zero maintenance, zero regrets.
The yen has tanked in comparison to USD, so the exchange rates could be quite favorable...
There has been talk about drop-spindles for quite a while. Nice to see some coming to the market. I'll be interested to hear about experience with 'em.

That's a picture of his car, I don't have them.
I'll relay his info onto here and I think Emilio and/or Savington(I could be wrong, basing it off FB comments lol) will be testing a prototype, maybe.
I would be trying testing them myself if it was legal in STR. I will, however, most likely be testing his aluminum lower control arms.

Resurrecting this thread, just picked these up from Danny George. The pictures do not do them justice, these are beautiful. I will scale them vs my stockers to see what the weight diff is. I have read the discussions, some say they will be advantageous some say they wont. But you simply don't know until you try.
