Acceleration and throttle resonse are so much better now, and my real time MPG display is showing a 3 mpg increase. I can't wait to tow something.

Hand calculated, real world increase: 2 mpg. This includes many over-uses of the throttle associated with new found power. Maybe I'll get a little bit more once the new power feel wears off.

Ok I got a screaming deal for someone who does not mind doing a bit of wrenching.

2005 Chevy Diesel Duramax, Crew Cab, 8' bed, dually wheels, 2wd. 160k miles. Leather seats. $5,000.00

The bad: Driver overheated the motor when radiator failed. Dealer says it needs a new motor. I see motors on ebay for 3k-5k.

Book on the truck is 17k private party.

Feel free to email me. thogan7242@gmail.com
Truck is in Elko NV.

That's more than just "a bit of wrenching". A Duramax weighs over 900 pounds, and the Allison that bolts on the back is 350+. :)

No difference between that and a Miata motor when the equipment is doing all the heavy lifting. The rest is just nuts and bolts. Great deal for $5k on a truck that books for $16k+

I guess I can post this random picture. My 05 6.0 powerstroke.

Car isn't a race car yet but I'm trying haha.

It has a intake exhaust and a egr delete. Had a tuner on it but plan to stud and retune later after studs. But stock it's a great truck.

Sct tunes are impressive even being the canned tunes. But truck is a low mileage older guy owned. So it's been great to. Me.

Here is my tow vehicle. It is a 2005 Ford F250 King Ranch with a 5.4. I do wish it was had a diesel, but not a fan of the 6.0. For now, the 5.4 does fine although mileage is crap (what do you expect). I have no complaints really about the truck. Maybe in the future I'll do a Cummins swap.

turbotyla 05-19-2014 09:32 PM

i was scared of a 6.0 powerstroke too. Everyone at my work had 7.3s and talks like they are the best.

Drove so many diesel trucks before i bought this one. 7.3s are poopy and feel like they need a lot of upgrades to make me happy.

duramax and cummins in my area were out of my price range and this truck literally was priced so good. have loved it ever since. and would buy another in a heart beat.

Has anyone actually had problems with their 6.0? There seems to be a lot of us who own them. mine leaks oil down the back, but other than that, it starts every time I turn the key.

Leafy 05-20-2014 09:30 AM

There seems to be a small list of common problems with them, like the coil cooler breaking and mixing coolant an oil, the egr taking a dump, and the injector seals cracking.
