I ran that exact configuration with the filter, the problem is I eventually got fuel in the filter either from over filling or fuel slosh with a full tank. Then the vent stopped venting and the tank was nearly impossible to fill. I ended up pulling the filter off and just letting any fuel that spills into the line hit the track.

I'm looking into doing a similar door gut to ThePass's. Anyone have experience with either of these options? Or I'll ask a buddy to fab up some brackets like ThePass did.

Passey has no windows. Are you required to run windows?

The car would still get parked on the street when the garage is occupied, so I need windows.

I have the miata cage window clips. They work pretty well; no complaints (although a bit pricey for 4 dinky aluminum brackets).
They'll work with even the largest door bars. As long as the top 3-4" of the inner door is still there. They're probably quicker to remove/install the windows than it was to wait for the weak, old power windows.
Open door.
Slide window glass into slot
Close door

They don't seal as well as stock. They're not rigidly mounted, so a bit of water will run down the inside of the door. I've been to the self serve car wash and was ok.

I don't have pictures, but years ago in a friends car, after gutting the doors, we attached a thin sheet of plastic to the bottom of the glass. By trial and error we cut off the bottom until it wedged at the right height in the bottom of the door, bending against the outside shell.

I used aluminum flat bar and slotted holes in it and hung them like Ryan did. Probably 5$ and an hour of work

I was thinking 220$ shipped for the small pair. Carbonweezel sells them for 285$ without shipping but theirs have clear coat over them and that adds weight.
