15 Months & Counting - '92 Mariner Blue 1.8 Turbo Build
Looks fantastic, especially the engine bay. What's on the notes on the windshield? That's a good idea to not forget anything. I usually just put an oil cap, radiator cap, etc. on the seat to remind me not to do something stupid.
Its a range of things I didn't want to forget that were partially complete. #1 on the list was not to burn the thing to the ground when frustrated.
Im very impressed with this build it has come a long way since purchase. My only question relates to your steering wheel choice. So i might as well be the first dink to post .NRG is not a quality brand and it will brake, bend and hurt you.
Wheel is holding up just fine, but anything can fail given enough stress. Someday I may switch it out, but probably not because it will have failed.
I know there was another gap in updates, and i'll catch up the pictures at some point in the near future.
Car was dyno'd this past Friday. Made 290whp and 291ft-lbs @ 18 psi holding in 4th gear. 88f ambient temps. Walbro 190 and FIC 650's performed like champs and still had plenty of headroom.
Alot more left on the table, but without a more efficient intercooler size and flex fuel we were seeing IAT's climb after a single pull about 30f over ambient.
Very happy with the numbers on 93 pump gas. Still working out an issue where my ecu won't talk to my iacv, so I've been unable to tune closed loop idle.
Braineack is going to have me send my ecu back
to him to test and see if the module we got from DIY is bunk somehow. He's been helpful so far with trying to troubleshoot a very problematic high idle.
