Pardon my extreme ignorance, but unless I'm mistaken, this runs contrary to everything I feel like I've ever read regarding ducting and intercoolers. If you know something I don't know, I'd love to hear more about this subject. I'm always looking to optimize my stack.

I'm focused on engine cooling over intercooler efficiency. We will see how it works.

Clean and pretty piping work, as expected from you

I think he meant he's gonna have a scooper for the rad, similar to what begi did ages ago to help the rad recover some of the airflow it's loosing to the ic

Im extremely interested to see how the car is going to sound. I may have to ask you for the part numbers for the resonator and the muffler when/if sound clips are up.

I was googling to find this in NZ the other day too. Wondered about stacking/epoxy-ing a some of layers of 3mm or 4mm together which does seem to be available. Not likely to be as stiff tho.

If you have either nomex honeycomb or corrugated plastic, you can bond .032"~ .049" aluminum to it.

Not to sidetrack, so pm if you want but the 3 and 4mm stuff we can get is not hollow/corrugated in the middle like the proper "Alumalite" is.

Ours is just sold core plastic (that im aware of at least) and quite heavy. Though i do use it for undertray and stuff.

Edit: Thanks Emilio, will look in to that.

That is dibond (or an equivalent), not alumalite.

Default Shock tower brace?

Are you running this car without a shock tower brace? We have an NA8 turbo endurance racer and are looking into braces. Thanks

Vegas will not have a shock tower brace. It will have cage extensions to the shock towers through the firewall however. I have never been able to discern any difference in handling with a traditional shock tower brace. They do seem to lower NVH a bit on street cars though.

Default Other stiffening mods?

Do you recommend any other stiffening mods or products like Flyin Miata sells?

Good subject for a new thread. Race cars have cages, obviating the need for bolt on braces in most cases.

You will notice we do not offer any braces on our site nor does Blackbird Fabworx nor Trackspeed Engineering, et.al.

The car is back in SoCal (woot). Renderos Racing is making a few small tweaks, taking molds off the wide steel fenders and then it comes home for us to start bolting stuff to it.
The two Setrab coolers have integrated fans. Fans will be controlled by the MS3Pro Ultimate ECU via thermocouples in trans and diff. Pumps in trunk. I had asked Tony to cut an intake in the RR qtr panel but he suggested putting the inlet in the wheel well. Better pressure differential, cleaner looking and no drag penalty. Note that it angles upwards so a screen should keep rocks out. Heat exchanger box has a water drain.
