Question Trying to get my 97 engine started with my MS3

Hey all,

I have attached the composite logs and an example of my tooth logs that are obviously weird.

Before I pull the valve cover and recheck my timing job I just wanted others too look over my high speed logs.

Car is a 1990 that I had wired for a VVT engine. Currently has a 97 engine in it that I rewired the cam and crank signal to the top back of the valve cover.

All spark and fuel injectors are firing as expected. (1-3-4-2)

Let me know what you think or what other data I should be collecting?

Thanks for any help!

Current state of the dash is all back in, this is just an example of what I have been doing.

Added a proper MLG log as well. Looks like my RPM is going from 430~ to 0 on repeat. I will start here for troubleshooting.

My issue seems to lie here. I thought the 94-97 engines ran the 4G63 trigger just like the 1.6 engines.

I believe these are my next steps that I need to start considering.

Your motor is not from a 1997 I think. You have a 1999-2000 intake manifold that doesn't fit on a 1997 engine (not the same bolt pattern)

It's most definitely a 94-97 engine. I pulled the old intake manifold and put the 01-05 Manifold I have onto it.

Ok for some reason I thought that it was a different bolt pattern.
I have a 97 and I can confirm the trigger pattern is 4g63.
here's a connector view if that can help you

You can't bolt a 99+ intake manifold to a 94-97 head, it'll have a giant gap above the flange and RPMs will sky rocket (once it starts).

Try flipping your ignition capture from rising to falling or vise versa, it's under "ignition", "ignition options"
