Default de-noobification in SC

hey

I'm Sammy/Sam/Samantha/Bird, whichever you'd prefer. I'm from South Carolina and as of about two weeks ago, I'm new to the Miata lifestyle rocking a blue NB2 as a daily. I've only ever owned your big-body VIP style cars - mainly Lexus GSs, so it's been an interesting adjustment. I've wanted one for as long as I can remember, though. She's currently lowered on some mediocre brand coilovers, which I plan to replace soon...most likely with BCs, unless I find something else I like as much in a similar price range. She's obnoxiously loud so I'll be redoing the exhaust soon to fit my liking better, and I'll probably switch to 16" wheels...maybe.. She's a 2001 with 77k original miles and in pretty darn good shape. Bone stock under the hood.

The plan is definitely to boost the car, though it'll most likely be a very slow process, buying one to two pieces of what I need at a time, though my lack of patience makes that killer. Aiming for about 250whp but that's still in the air, as I'm still researching and learning all I can right now.. Definitely hope to gain some knowledge from the threads here, and any info/tips/pointers/etc are greatly appreciated! And it would be really cool to get to know other Miata owners in the area as well (SC, NC, FL, GA, TN)

Welcome to the forum. There's a lot of good information here in the various threads.

What do you do for a living?

I've been looking around and reading up on a lot of things in the threads. Definitely a lot of helpful information, which I'm grateful for!

I currently work in logistics for a company that builds and integrates a variety of tactical military vehicles, ranging from amphibious combat vehicles, to mobile data shelters, to Humvees, and others. I generally go back and forth between building parts kits to send to the assembly line for install and actually going working hands-on to help build them. It's an interesting job, for sure

I'll be having a dyno day in Charleston in the near future. There are around half a dozen miatas in the Charleston area running my turbo setups.

really? I'm stock under the hood so I wouldn't dyno it, but i would absolutely be interested in coming and seeing all the other Miatas and learning more about how everyone has their setups. it would also be cool to get to know the other local owners

Prob not. I just got it back on the road and it's still an automatic. At least for another 2 weeks
