Not sure. It seems like they're the same name for the same thing but I always see faceplates being less able to hold up to power shifting where as dogs can be beat on while shifted without much downside.

And for what he spent on those 11 transmissions and giving a very minimal monetary value of time spent changing them, rebuilding them and losing track time at events......he could have put just about any gearbox in the car he wanted to.
