Ebay sleeves are meh, but sure that's not a big performance point.

Call me a unicorn wrangler. $209 to my door. Used beautiful MSM bilsteins, and BRAND NEW NB top hats.

'Sup?

what $200 shocks are you revalving anyway? Bilsteins are $400 and you won't find any "custom" top hats for $50 unless you mean $50 per corner. Same with sleeves. Same with bump stops...

misinformed or a troll.
Concealer and I each just picked up sets of MSM Bilsteins for under $200 shipped. Custom shockmounts and bumpstops aren't expensive if you do the legwork yourself. Some steel plate, some pipe, and a trip to a machine shop. If you're feeling spendy you can use spherical bearings and maybe spend $100 for all four mounts, otherwise you can do it the ISC way and use some bits of bumpstop as bushings.

As for the bumpstops, Honda bumpstops are the same material and close to the same length as FCM's. FCM bumpstops are just off the shelf ones that Shaikh found were a good length and rate. They're not magical or different in any way from other bumpstops.

So what exactly is the difference between a set of Bilsteins and a set of ASTs with the same springs and valving? Even Emilio has stated that the primary benefit of Xidas over FCM Bilsteins is adjustability and lower unsprung weight. If we're talking just damping performance, I see nothing to imply that Xidas are in another league entirely.

And yes, I'm aware that there is more involved than the F/V curve. I'm not recommending revalved Racelands here.

The difference is WHO valves them. Most Bilteins are revalved by Bilstein USA ie big suck or some redneck flat track shop. The guy valving the HVT aka Hanchey Vehicle Technologies aka no longer Moton/AST aka Xida is a genius complete with his own valving equations. If HVT was valving your Bilsteins then I would agree with you partially. For giggles you should search Hanchey Vehicle Technologies on miatAturbo advanced view by post Also you can't replicate their valving because one of the employees puts beard hair in each shock, unless you get four of his beard hairs... No bullshit

Also if Emilio sold just HVT shocks with 2.5" collars, I would throw homemade aluminum ISC hats on them and china springs, nothing wrong with cheap springs other than the weight

I can't tell if you're being facetious. Why would who revalves your shock be relevant, as long as they perform the revalve to your specifications and provide a shock dyno to prove it?

Because piston design, shim stacks, psi, oil cc, wiper friction, tolerances, body size, beard hair, etc all make differences not seen on a dyno sheet. You would have to try 5-10 different valving to get the perfect one for your setup, you can't just spec the middle line of the Xida graph.

Why can't I just make a wing for an airplane? All I need are the general shape and dimensions. No big deal.

If it doesn't affect f/v or f/d, why would it affect the wheel?

No, you would calculate the proper damping curve and spec that. You know, just like you're working on in another thread right now.

Orville and Wilbur made wings for an airplane and they didn't know **** about wings apart from the fact that birds had them.

And I would fly non stop to Germany at 630mph on them in a heart beat.

I built an engine once, therefore I can probably duplicate what wins in NASCAR. Just pistons, valves and a little machining.

Jessies Kits has the silver springs at roughly 550# front and rear.
