and because of this, it's very important to follow the manual on the grease points when installing it, so the TOB doesn't transfer noise through the fork:

Yup. The organic will hold but be nearer it's max capacity. The ceramic can be beat on and not slip.

 

220-230 ~ 275-290 at the crank. does that answer your question? Clutches are generally rated for crank torque.

What's the advantage of having a lower engagement point for racing? Allowing for the heat expansion of the fluid?

 

Personal preference. Lower resting height and lower engagement helps speed up clutch actuation by reducing total pedal travel. I set up my cars with the CC actuation switch adjusted down to reduce pedal height.

Look under your dash at the upper and lower limiters to see what Im talking about.

 

Today's autocross course's start had a 100-ft long straight to the first turn. Spent the day doing rather hard launches.
The 949 sport clutch (ceramic 4-puck sprung hub) worked flawlessly

 

I noticed the 1.8 clutch has been removed from the 949 page. Is there another delay from the manufacturer?

I'm sure they were constantly getting inquiries about ETAs about the July shipment, and just took it down.

:( I was just looking for this too, as I was thinking about putting together one big order for a handful of stuff rather than a few smaller orders. But hopefully they will be available again once I really need it.

Yes. We are working on the second gen clutches. No ETA.

Correct. New supplier. Previous supplier made a great clutch at a great price but could not manage their own supply chain well enough for me to keep regular stock no matter how many I ordered and prepaid. Threw in the towel. New supplier will make and even better clutch (slightly more clamp force and lower pedal effort), has no issues with supply chain and I should be able to offer them at the same price to y'all. Might even be able to bring the organic version of our twin back. Looking like November before we'll have any clutches though, sorry folks.

Also worth mentioning - I've been running the 1.8L stage 1 organic in the K24 powered car now for a while, and it perfect.

Engagement is buttery smooth, pedal effort is minimal, and hold the power with no issue. Thanks for making a great product at an affordable price. When you have them back in stock, I'll send customers your way who are looking for a good clutch for their K swap.

 

When it's available again, I will not wait to order it. I've been drooling over it too long to not have this in my pants car.

 

Good to know. I'll continue babying the 155k mile OEM clutch for now.
(Still amazed it's still working. Then again, stock power levels.)

 

Any updates on this? It's December and I'm looking to buy a clutch with flywheel in the next few months and more options is more better.
