Hoosier West.

ZX-Tex 10-28-2011 04:45 PM

That is what I get for using a Texas supplier. Oh well, it is not like the R100s will suck.

I almost did the R100s. Let me know how they work. The R100 is supposed to be the "standard" compound, and the R80 is for lightweight cars.

Those R80's or R100's won't work well without wheels.

I'm not convinced. They are so stiff I can use one as a chair without it collapsing slightly.

ZX-Tex 10-28-2011 05:45 PM

:)
I'll be using them on 15x9 6ULs for starters then perhaps switching to 15x10s. That is unless I bust out the credit card and get the 6ULs which according to the latest non-insider information will finally be available next week.

A 9" wheel is only 0.4" narrower than the tread width, and Hoosier shows 7-10" for the allowable wheel width for these. They will probably be faster on 10" wheels.

Savington 10-28-2011 05:53 PM

I have an event next weekend. I'll have 9s on standby but if the 10s show up by Friday afternoon I'll have them on track Saturday.

ZX-Tex 10-28-2011 06:19 PM

Cool. Looking forward to hearing how they do, tire pressures, camber, what not... I will probably not have these on the track until late November.

They R100's are suppose to last another 3 heat cycles but have less grip over the R80's. In our area it would be best to have both. R80's on the cooler days and R100's for those crazy hot days at Thunderhill and Button willow.

Glad to see you giving them a try. You are going to be hooked!

Where are you running next weekend?

Ok well the Arrival Date listed on the 949 site has arrived and passed without Emilio moving the date this time.
Are they here yet?
Bob

They will be in tomorrow.

AnnorexicRoadster 11-02-2011 06:47 PM

More importantly where are the mystery 245/40/15 tires that were suppose to be released at sema?

If you look on the front page they are now listed as arriving November 7th.

That's what I was thinking. Been looking for news the past 2 days.

Seefo 11-02-2011 10:48 PM

Where did you hear about a 245/40? I hope its not from the 3 year old thread by Emilio...

3 years? yes it was started 3 years ago but...

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread...=329884&page=3

It was last spoken about by Emilio several months ago, including the fact that the tires were tested and slated ready for production by sema.

Seefo 11-03-2011 09:40 AM
