Hey All,
Just ordered 15x9 in Bronze and have some questions: These are hub centric wheels, But I am currently running a 15mm spacer on the car with lug centric 15" Panasports. Is there something like a hub centric spacer I can buy to fit ontop of the existing spacer to make the rims on properly or do I need to get new spacers? I have a hard roll in the rear and a mild roll in the front. I realize I may not need the spacers at all going forward. 7" -> 9" Thanks in advance |
You don't actually need hub centering rings at all.

Thanks! these are apparenlty lug centric, so the 54.1 bore is a bonus! I will most likely be removing those spacers in the rear anyways as I have just enough rim now!

If anyone is interested in a set of new silver 15x10s with new 245 Maxxis already mounted, PM me. Also Autokonexion aero front fenders and GT rear flares for an NA. I'm not completely sure that I want to sell them yet, but knowing I have a buyer will probably convince me. The first set of full rear quarter panels autokonexion sent me didn't fit and, even though they made things right and sent me a new set of GT flares at no charge, it still threw off my schedule for having the car ready by April 1st. I don't think I'll have time to install the fenders and do the paint work until next winter.
I'm not willing to give any smoking cheap deals on this stuff. I'm just offering it all for sale at the price I paid to anyone who wants 15x10s but can't buy them because of lack of availability. |

Well the 15x9's are on. I don't see a need for spacers with FatCat Coils, plenty of clearance on the inside. Fenders will have to be rolled (obviously)

Got my 15x9 bronze wheels in last week and got them mounted up and took her for a spin today (about 30 miles). No fender rolling necessary, love how these look. They're mounted on an NB2 with vmaxx xtremes track pack coilovers. Tires are 225/45/15 RS3's. Tires clear the fenders perfectly fine. The tire does show witness marks adjacent to the top hat on the inside of the wheel well in the fronts (I don't have fender liners, so I don't recall if this area is normally covered, regardless, it makes contact there). The area of slightly more concern is the front lower A-arms (rear under side). This area seems to make contact with the 2nd radius (middle of three steps) adjacent to the wheel bore. In static state there is plenty of clearance (an inch?). I tried loading it up with the wheel up with the car in the air and it gets closer, but doesn't touch. So it must be dynamic loading near bumpstop territory thats creating contact. It has made contact 360 deg around the wheel right on the radius. Not more than 5 mils depth (0.005") though, so its really only surface damage. I was on some roads with some big dips today, so I don't expect it to make any further contact, but I'll likely see at auto-x tomorrow. See photos attached. I took a grinding wheel to the A arm surface (just to touch off and take down the surface), hopefully creating enough clearance. If not I may have to look into spacing them out. Otherwise I'm super happy with the wheels- well made and look great! |

Forgot to post photos of them on the car!

Looks awesome, thanks for sharing.
I probably should have bought this, but #949sackrider |
Is there going to be a redesign/rerun of these? Because the wheels look amazing, but I wonder if they are going to get the weight back down.
|
If they do come back with the lighter weight, expect the price to go up.
We have discovered that the 15x8 don't clear factory Sport braces without a low profile banjo bolt - same as with the TRM wheels. Easy fix, just use a low profile banjo like the one we sell. I suspect that most stainless brake lines come with the lower profile bolt as well, I know ours do. |

Yours look kindof sunken in the rear, which is surprising to me. |

Yours look kindof sunken in the rear, which is surprising to me. side note took them to autox this weekend. One side left another mark after I coated the a arms with paint. I think since it's only one side this time it might be at full or close to full lock when I was getting around my other car in my driveway. The only rubbing I felt and found at autox was on the top of the wheel well. Which is surprising too. Otherwise, the lips are fine. See some photos from autox with the wheels. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1429210011 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1429210011 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1429210011 |
I mean they almost look like the offset is higher than 36mm in the back.
Is the rubbing enough to cause concern? I rarely rarely hit full lock in my cars. |
I was only at full lock because I parked too close to the garage and had to shimmy my way out with the miata. Sucks with no PS ha.
The rubbing in the wheel well doesn't seem too bad, I'll keep an eye on it and report back as necessary. |
If i go full lock i'll take HUNKS out of the wheel. Mine is no minor rub, I don't even know where full lock is anymore.
|
Does anyone else have these rubbing issues?
|

Just did a track day on these. No rubbing to report.
it's probably worth mentioning that it looks like Erat is running stock springs. Maybe he'll chime in with how many of his issues are due to that. Looks so good my paint fell off :D https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1429482134 |
Has anyone tried the lower offset (15et) 15x10's Phil's tire service is selling?

Finally mounted the rims!!!! Jongbloed 15x9 wearing 225/45/15 Hankook RS-3 v2. Car is sitting on HSD Mono Pro 9k front 6K rear iPhone 5s pics
These photos are with no spacers, my rears are rolled flat and slightly pulled, fronts have a mild roll. Attachment 183919 Attachment 183920 Attachment 183921 Attachment 183922 Attachment 183923 These photos are with spacers, 5mm in the front and 15 mm in the back. I was experiencing bad rub on the LCA in the front. I was actually loosing some lock in the steering wheel due to how bad they were hitting. I tried grinding it but I wasn't comfortable taking any more material and it was still rubbing like mad. 5mm spacer in the front solved most of the rub and gave me back some much needed steering lock. Now it only rubs on the LCA if I'm being belligerent on the wheel. *note* I also was planning on raising the front of the car so the fronts are about 1 inch higher in these pics. 15x9 with worn 225/45 NT-01's.
Fenders rolled flat- no spacers, no rubbing yet, but haven't been to the track or anything. I will be limiting steering lock to prevent some rub on the control arms. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434721896 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434721896 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1434721896 |

Ours are in stock, cheaper, lighter, better looking (lip!) and not a copy of someone else's design.
FWIW, FM gave up on the Jongbloed and is now the largest 6UL dealer in the world. |
ooo look, aren't they pretty?

no offense, and your rims are clearly superior, but the jonglongdongs look better.

The 15x10 youngbloods look amazing. Dat concave. 6ULs look better in 8" and 9".

and incorrect. Lip wins. I might believe that and second guess myself if so many other people I know didn't have exactly the same opinion. But who cares, there are plenty of wheels for us nowadays. My guess is that many of the people that "love" 6UL's do so because of their performance/functionality, and their reputation in the community (you). Not because they genuinely think they're beautiful. But again, I could be wrong cause looks are totally subjective. jonglongdong's look amazing. "that style" looks amazing. When I was making a choice last time, I still didn't choose them though, and went with storms for the 3-5lb per corner weight difference. If I was to make a decision now between 6UL and Jonglongdong, I'd still choose the 6UL but dream of the jongdongs every night because they're so much sexier and look A M A Z I N G *edit: it's like choosing a pretty chick that is smart and can cook over a smokin hot supermodel that sucks at everything else. |

Also Lots of Manufacturers provide models of their parts with the intent of design and fabrication around the part. You may think the cad model is all you need to rip off a wheel but the tooling investment is huge. Im just looking for a model to design my spindle and brake setup in.

I actually did google it, and was surprised. Seems legit. :dunno:
If you don't know the backstory to some of the 949 "clone" fiascos, then you might not see an issue with the request. |
aint happenin hoss.
last time Emilio shared anything TR went and ripped off all his measurements and made competitor wheels with em. he was so mad I thought he would break the intewebz (and I would be too). He's still mad about it, like 8 years later. Just buy a set of his wheels :) |
