^ any word on pricing yet and will this be like the RC-1 where we order directly from Maxxis?

Also, will it be included for NASA 2016 contingency as a rain tire option?

VR-1 pricing has not been set yet. I believe we'll announce pricing in February or March. We do plan to offer the VR-1 directly through our website. However, we're also exploring the possibility of adding distribution through other channels. I can't yet answer the question regarding NASA contingency eligibility.

While we're talking about 15x10s and 245s. I want 15x10s and 245s in the future. But don't have 245 budget right now. What is the consensus of a 225 on a x10. Doable? I know a 205 works on a x9 what about 225 on x10?

Interested in this as well. Have 225 tires now and would like to get some 15x10s now with the option to buy 245 tires in the future.

Mostly because buying x8's gave me instant buyers remorse for not buying 9's, and I don't want to buy 9's and want 10's 2 weeks later lol.

Plus, 10's are baller.

I've run this combo before with good results. For some reason the outside bead looked better than the inside one. It felt good on the track too. I would not hesitate to do it again if I needed to.

Thank you. No 9s in my future.

Sorta relevant as the VR1 should be almost identical dimensions to the RC-1. being built on the same casing. Just a teaser. Anxious to see the VR-1's on street builds.

Quting this pic to suck up bandwidth and once again demonstrate the pimpiosity of 15x0's with 245's.

Brief update:

It sounds like the 245/40/15 VR-1 first batch is made, but might not have arrived in the US yet. It does appear that we will all have access to these by early Summer. I for one, am practically building a car around these tires.

They're on the water now. We should have them available for purchase on our website sometime in March. I'm pretty excited about them. Just wish I had a car I could use them on.

You must be thinking of the 225/45ZR15 RC-1. The 245/40ZR15 RC-1 is more. In any case - pricing has not been made public yet, but the VR-1's will be less than the RC-1's.

Can't wait! These will be replacing the worn out RC-1's on my car.

You're right - I looked up the wrong size. 245/40-15 RC-1s are $175/piece.
I'd be very happy with $160 or lower.

So if I am running on 700/400 XIDAs and currently on 15x10 245 RC-1 with 330whp, is there anything to gain going to these besides water shedding abilities and less attention from police on the roads? The only thing I am not sure about with my RC1 is how long they will last driven on the street, not due to alignment, but due to heat cycles. That's my biggest interest with the VR-1.

The RC1 on the street also give me much better straight line traction than my old RS-3 did so that's important too.

Will these be getting an E marking for street use in Europe?
