Default Wheel and tire width for an N/A miata

Hello guys, I have a 94 miata that has few boltons that I would like to race the upcoming season this year.

I was planning to go to street tire class which should be UTQG 200+ if the rules don't change from the year before. As far as power mods, I plan to have RB header and RB catback with a test pipe. And for suspension, I plan to have Xida coilovers with RB tubular 1.125" bar with 0.125 wall.

Is there such thing as too much wheel/tire for this power level or will 15X9 with 225 will always yield the best results.

Do an advanced search for posts by Emilio500 about tires and wheels. Tests have been performed. I believe 15x9 was the result for wheels. I cannot recall on the tires. Check out the BFG Rival thread for something new on 200+ treadwear tires.

Yeah, there's lots of good stuff here about that. From what I remember, no, there is no such thing as too much tire. But find that thread for more specifics.

15x9 225/45
15x8 205/50

I believe thats what everyone was agreeing on for common/good sizes. The x9 being faster.
