Prepping for turbo build
#705
May be missing something but not sure how that's supposed to do anything. Lower chamber to open gate always sees pressure (or vacuum) and top chamber is either fed same signal pressure (basically making it just spring prrssure) or solenoid is nomally closed and keeps air from getting out of top chamber till it opens and drops to spring pressure as above?
Would think with 2 port to run vacuum to solenoid then signal from solenoid to lower chamber on ewg. Then solenoid controls when waste gate sees pressure. I.e opens after boost threshold is reached.

Wow.... Drove it today with the vacuum lines connected to the correct place and everything is 100% perfect! Pulls like a raped ape, holds steady at 10psi which is all I wanted to start out with. AFR's are 11.3 - 11.6 from what I have seen in boost at full throttle. LIFE IS GOOD!

I don't think you're in danger of really doing much damage, but my caution goes out to you. Remember that a base tune is a base tune. This isn't to knock the person who made it, but just take it easy so your happiness is not short lived. Once you get a date hammered out with Ken let me know. I have class Tuesday and Thursday nights so that won't work for me. I'm thinking on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday night that I am off of work we can meet at his house, or at a rest area on the Turnpike and caravan from there. Weekends are hard to do for me. IIRC he gets home after 5 weekdays.
Just shoot me a text when u figure a date.

I'm not getting too crazy. Not getting into boost for long pulls or anything. I was mostly just doing short pulls and checking my AFR's and making sure I was ~10psi.
Awesome I will let you know the specific date that he would like to shoot for and we will go from there! Wednesdays are perfect for me beings that I have full days off every Wednesday.

Thanks! I consistently saw 11.3-11.6 arf's in boost throughout the day, while I had autotune connected. I did take a short trip to the tire shop to drop my employee off to pick up a vehicle and saw 12.4 in boost one time, and I did not have my laptop on at the time ... Does that mean I just need to keep autotuning?

Thanks! So far it absolutely was! Still getting used to the power!
I definitely need a torsen asap... My vlsd is a timebomb and I am waiting for it to blow up every time I hit the gas lol. My old rad also is on borrowed time so that's gotta go

This fitting was pretty cool! Worked absolutely perfectly! Beats tapping the turbo lol...
Re-installed my under-tray after cutting off the sides. I didn't see any other way around it but didn't want to drive without it. This should keep some dirt away and keep airflow somewhat directed properly anyway lol
Keeping it on the lift so I can drill the holes for my rear rollbar mounts tomorrow and install the plates... I've had it 1/2 installed since July ... Whoops (Luckily I've only driven it a handful of times lol

make sure it's actually a torsen before driving up.
as far as the ebc solenoid, the lower port on the solenoid vents to atmosphere. When left closed the boost goes up, when cycled, the pressure on the top of the EWG is lower than that of the lower port so the piston moves up and exhaust bypasses the turbine.

Also the 4.10 isn't "Ideal" ... But for $500 the peace of mind knowing that my diff wont (probably) blow up will be worth it.
