I've seen it happen on a MS-II/4G63 as well. I can swear it didn't happen on my MS-II/V3.0 on batch injection.

Probably took me like 2 weeks to tune my EAE perfectly. you cant just flip it on and expect it to be perfect, there's a fairly detailed procedure on how to tune it.

Basically the curves are telling the MS that: When you hit the throttle X amount of fuel does not make it in the engine, and when you lift X amount of fuel gets sucked in. Takes a good long stretch of highway and lots of throttle modulation at different rates to shape the curves correctly.

After I enabled EAE, I saw the rest of the enabled menu items and I knew there was a lot more to be tweaked.

Brain, could you post your EAE curves? I know I'm still a long ways to getting to that level of tweaking, but I'm curious to see what you ended up with.

Just chiming in to say I get that EXACT same stumble too. Never had it with MS1 batch. It feels like a mild ECU 'burn' command or a single event of a single cylinder misfire.

I've hit the space bar every time and the log shows nothing. AFRs stay constant, All injector PW values show nothing out of the ordinary and spark doesn't change drastically etc...

Like Reverant, it only occurs 3 times max per week. Last week it only happened once IIRC. It doesn't bother me as it only occurs at cruise with small throttle input.

Still, if it's a bug in the code, we should all pipe up on MSExtra.

It has been discussed on msextra.com, here, by Richie. Perhaps we need to open a new thread?

New thread is a good idea, the coders are looking to close off MSII so sooner rather than later really.

I also chimed in there because I also get this - I already made a thread a while ago but couldn't fix the problem with the suggested things.

I got this with the change to 3.0.3 firmware - didn't happen with 2.x.

Cheers for that. Some people don't mind at all but others seem to get irritated even if it happens once per day.

Question Megasquirt for 02

Reverant: Check your PM. I have some questions about your MS work.

Thanks,

Tom

I was pointed here regarding my thread in the section for the same issue, this describes it to a "T":
"It feels like a mild ECU 'burn' command or a single event of a single cylinder misfire."

I have logs of it happening though and I am not one of the Bulk Buy setups so maybe mine is different but before I got to the new thread and post I will see what Reverant thinks. I don't want to add to the conversation there if my issue is completely different.

https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquirt-18/random-studder-not-sure-what-make-54450/

Logs and my MSQ are in the very first post.

I also did not know about hitting the spacebar to make a notation on the log I will try that from now on sorry guys.

I am on Batch Injection though.

Revenant,
To enable sequential ignition my understanding is that I connect pin 10 IGN C to trigger for coil 4 and pin 11 IGN D to trigger on coil 2 (ABCD=1342) and to set the number of coils from "wasted" spark to "coil on plug" in Ignition Options?

I have to say, this was the shortest amount of time from install to driving out of any install I've done. That includes Xede, non-pnp MS-II, and Adaptronic.

Couple of questions.

1. How do I enable knock sensing? I see there are two pins that can be activated via drop down menu, which do I choose?

2. Idle. Is the idle valve supposed to be run in inverse where 0 = open, 100 = closed? Are there any other settings I need?

This is on a '99 with COPs.
