Afco's puking oil.. what next
My afco coilovers (right front for now) have puked oil all over.. A buddy's miata with afco's did the same thing.. not sure if i want to continue using these. and getting them fixed, with shipment to/from the us is expensive too.. ( i live in norway)
thinking of getting xida's.. or is there anything else i should get instead?
The car is lightweight, stripped down, gt200 wing, splitter, 9x15 on r comps tires, osgiken diff and roughly 400whp. setup has to be mostly for track use, and i am used to running 650/400lb springs now.
Are the double adjustable ones wort the extra cost ?
any input would be appreciated

There was a design flaw in early versions of the AFCO (released 3-4 years ago), where the large nut at the top of the shaft would eventually break through the aluminum "protector" washer (when bottoming out - a frequent occurence in Miatas, even with high spring rates) and punch through the top seal. My shocks failed in this way within a year. FM had them rebuilt and they've since updated the design with more suspension travel and a large steel washer, making a similar failure nigh on impossible.
If this is your problem, you'll have to send them back for a rebuild and update, I'm afraid.

Yes even with 800/500 I still have smashed the plastic pieces on the top of my shocks from bottoming out suspension travel hard. with Grippy tires on 9" wheels and aero. My tires rub all over the inside of my rear fenders at full compression so I know I am using all the bump travel I can.
I suspect the afco's don't like the bump rubber smashing the top of the gland nut that hard, might of damaged the seal.
I am loving my XIDA Doubles 800/500
